First Step-By-Step Guide on How To Grow Plumeria - Frangipani
Successfully in any Climate

Welcome,

You are about to be introduced to the first step-by-step guide on how
to grow plumerias successfully from plumeria cuttings, rooted and
unrooted, to flowering plants with vibrant colorful blooms. Every step
is explained to you in detail. I share with you my experience of
growing these beautiful exotic tropical plants successfully in plant
hardiness zone 5 (Chicago, USA) during the past 10-plus years.

You only have to hear or see the word 'lei' and you go back memory
lane to unforgettable vacations in the Caribbean, Hawaii, Tahiti, or
some other tropical destinations, and images of plumerias start to
dance in your head.

Plumeria or frangipani flowers are strung together to make these
colorful, eye-catching intoxicating scented leis that welcome visitors
to many tropical destinations, most notably Hawaii. Leis on Hawaii can
include a variety of Hawaiian flowers that not only enhance the color,
but also the fragrances of each lei.

These colorful tropical plants are native to the Caribbean region of
the world, including the northern South American countries of Guyana,
Venezuela, Columbia, many of the Caribbean Islands from Martinique to
the Bahamas, Belize, and Mexico's Yucatan peninsula and throughout
Central America.

This exotic wonder is the National Flower of Nicaragua with its
picture found on some of their currency. It is the City Flower of
Palermo, Sicily, Italy where Sicilians practice a very beautiful
tradition of mothers gifting their daughters a frangipani plant as a
symbol of fertility. In Sicily as well as throughout Italy, the
plumeria is known as Pomelia or Frangipane. Italy is the home of the
sixteenth century nobleman, Marquis Frangipani, who created perfume
scented gloves for royalty from these flowers. This is where the name
for these intoxicating beauties of nature, frangipani, comes from.

On the other side of the world, the frangipani is the National Tree of
Laos called Dok jampa or Dok champa. Every Buddhist Temple in Laos has
them planted in their courtyards leading them to be known as Temple or
Pagoda trees throughout the region. After years of superstition
associated with plumerias in Thai culture, Thais have overcome this
connection and now present the scented blossoms of the Lantom (Thai
name) as fragrant offerings to Buddha. Today, many Thais wear them on
special festive celebrations, such as their New Year celebration known
as Songkran.

In Malaysia, the Kemboja kuning scent in their folklore is associated
with a vampire. At the southern tip of the Malay peninsula lies
Singapore, where the famous Plumeria obtusa 'Singapore' originated.
The first cutting was brought to Hawaii in the 1930s by Harold Lyon.
In Bali, Indonesia, you want to ask for Jepun. In Sri Lanka they are
called Pansal Mal, and in India and Hindu culture, the Phool is a
symbol of immortality because it can continue to produce flowers and
leaves even after it is taken out of the ground.

Kaneohe Sunburst

The strong attraction to frangipani, which began centuries ago
continues. The earliest description of plumerias dates back to 1522.
Today, plant lovers from all over the world continue to be smitten by
these irresistible intoxicating tropical flowers. From Australia to
Alaska, Germany to Greece, Hawaii to Haiti, South America to Southeast
Asia, and New Zealand to Zurich people worldwide begin love affairs
the moment they encounter that mystical, magical enchantment that
embraces them in the presence of plumeria flowers for the first
time.....much like that unforgettable first romantic kiss that one
remembers their whole life.

In Hindu culture, frangipani flowers mean loyalty. As a sign of
loyalty, Hindu women put a flower in their hair on their wedding day
to symbolize their loyalty to their husbands. In French Polynesia
Tahiti women indicate their relationship status by the placement of
the flower in their hair....taken or available. This is how most of us
plant lovers begin our relationship with plumerias. One is
overwhelmed by the powerful, passionate initial chance encounter that
draws each of us in. It involves all of our senses that emotionally
demands our loyalty. Because of all this, frangipani flowers connect
with our heart, mind and soul to create a deep sensuous life-long
relationship that one can never live without thereafter.

each and every time you encounter these beautiful exotic tropical
flowers by any name. Whether it is in their natural habitat, a floral
necklace placed upon your shoulders, you want to be one with these
flowers for the rest of your life! The power of plumerias worldwide
culturally, aesthetically, and emotionally speaks the language of
love. Just like in our own human relationships , from deep in our
hearts,
you, as a plant lover, are moved to respond and say.... 'You're
Special, I love you, and I always will.'

Now you can grow these magnificent flowers in your own home wherever
you live, be it Alaska or Florida.

This step-by-step guide, How To Grow Plumeria - Frangipani Anytime
Anywhere, teaches you everything you need to know about growing these
beauties from the moment your plumeria cuttings, plants, or seeds
arrive at your front door to the ultimate enjoyment these flowers
present you in full bloom growing indoors or outdoors. This ebook
includes the latest rooting method that speeds up the container
development process that I, myself, just recently systematically
tested with great success.

Successful Stories Using The New Revolutionary Rooting Method

On September 21, 2010, I planted ten unrooted cuttings. I used a
rooting hormone containing a fungicide with all 10 cuttings prior to
planting. Five cuttings were planted using the new rooting method, and
five cuttings were planted the conventional way.

All 10 cuttings, harvested on the same day, were placed below the
center of a single 1000 Watt Agrosun light with all cuttings receiving
the same amount of light, humidity, temperature, and airflow.

Four of the five cuttings that were planted using the new rooting
method developed roots by day 39 – October 30, 2010. In addition,
two of these four cuttings each developed an inflorescence. The fifth
cutting was anchored in the pot (which indicates root development),
but none were visible as of yet. Two days later, however, on day 41
roots were visible from this fifth cutting. So all five cuttings
planted with this new rooting method developed roots.

The remaining five cuttings that were planted the conventional way
are not anchored nor show any roots as of day 41. This indicates there
is no root development at this time.

Day 39 - Puu Kahea cutting

The picture below shows the successful rooting of one cutting that was
planted using this new, revolutionary rooting method. The cutting on
the left of the picture was planted almost 3 weeks after the cutting
to the right. I did not use the new rooting method with the cutting to
the right. You can see the dramatic difference in the root development
of each.

You can clearly see the developing roots on the left side.

The following 2 pictures show the root development of one cutting that
had not developed any roots for 2 months. This cutting was replanted
using this new rooting method and produced the following roots after
just 17 days.
