Welcome to the introduction of the PURCHASE \">1.0.

My name is ROGER VAN DER MOLEN and I'm located at The Netherlands,
Eindhoven. I'm working 20+ years in the Purchasing, Supply Chain and
Operations field. I started in 1990 in the (electronics) industry and
over the years I worked at several companies (amongst Philips) and
gained a lot of knowledge and experience related Sourcing (Purchase,
Supply Chain, Operations) and (Business) Management next to my
specific education at University level in these disciplines inclusive
APICS CPIM certification.

Early 2009 I started my own company VANDERMOLEN SOURCING ">My
personal statement or slogan is "ADDING VALUE TO YOU" meaning that my
drive is to solve the problem of the client such the bottom line of
the client shows the requested improvement.

What I noticed over the years is that limited specific knowledge and
experience sharing takes place within the Purchase ">Therefore I
decided to start putting all my experiences and knowledge gained over
de last 20+ years in so called ESOURCES (EBOOKS). I call it eSources
as my aim is to be a source of information and so to offer real "ADDED
VALUE" for those interested to increase their knowledge, experience
and/or broaden their horizon.

By this sharing the word "leverage" gets a new dimension as WHY
RE-INVENT THE WHEEL? Why should all newcomers fall in the same
pitfalls? Isn't it the aim to move on the stairs of professionalism
within the fields of Purchase & Supply Chain for all involved. Next I
aim that also non Purchase & Supply Chain people will use the eSources
to broaden their horizon, as Purchase ">The SCOPE OF MY ESOURCES are
all people who from business and/or private point of view are involved
in and/or interested in the Purchase ">Due to my experiences within
the MAKE INDUSTRY the examples and cases I use are mainly linked to

I have enjoyed reading the e-book. I would like to share my
experience of working in a department where the supply chain was not
integrated and the procurement was a seperate function. When the
integration was done and everything was brought under the umbrella of
supply chain overall performance of the department and the company was
improved.

Therefore as you said "that it is very important for
departments/employees must be put physically together in order to
mimic the (sub)processes and bosses must be limited and made
responsible for those (integral) (sub)processes."
