CREATE YOUR FIRST HOMEMADE SOAP

WHO ELSE WANTS TO MAKE SOAP THE CHEAPER AND EASIER WAY?

MY TRIPS AND TRICKS CAN CUT YOUR SOAP MAKING COST, TIME AND EFFORT
BY HALF!

AKING HOME MADE SOAP NEED NOT BE A DIFFICULT PROCESS. Natural hand
made soap can be made quickly and cheaply in as little as one hour
(depending on the formulation) as soon as one understands the basics.
After you learn how to make home made soap, all you need are the
correct ingredients. And the proper techniques, of course. This is
because soap is the product of a specific interaction between
different chemicals. Therefore, it is very important that these
ingredients are mixed together in the right amounts and the correct
sequence.

You too can make soap at home without too much fuss. People have
been manufacturing soap long before specialized machines for soap
making were invented. Archaeological evidence has been found that the
ancient Babylonians were among the first to make soap using a
combination of water cassia oil and alkalis. The citizens of ancient
Egypt created their soaps from animal fats, vegetable oils and
alkaline salts and used these soaps for bathing and for cleaning wool.
A full-blown soap factory has even been found in the ruins of Pompeii
– complete with already made bars of soap. Even ancient Arabs were
able to make their own soaps using various vegetable and aromatic
oils.

All that information was presented to make a point: simply put, it
is quite easy to make homemade soap even if you don’t have
specialized, high end equipment. You can employ the standard,
time-honored cold process which simply involves mixing lye and sodium
hydroxide or potassium hydroxide with properly measured amounts of
fats or oils. As the name cold process implies, this does not require
heating of the ingredients. You can also personalize your homemade
soap by adding essential oils, herbs and fragrances. You can then
allow this mixture to cool in their moulds overnight.

THERE IS ALSO WHAT IS KNOWN AS THE HOT PROCESS. THIS INVOLVES
BOILING A SOLUTION OF LYE WITH FATS AND OILS WHILST STIRRING
CONTINUOUSLY. A SALT INFUSION WOULD THEN ENSURE THAT THE SOAP
CONSTITUENT OF THIS COMBINATION SOLIDIFIES. THE PRODUCT OF THIS IS
USABLE, HIGH QUALITY SOAP.

One of the most popular methods of making homemade soaps is the melt
and pour system, wherein one melts a ready made soap mix and adds
their own preferred ingredients to personalize the soaps. The base mix
is easy to create and is actually being sold in most handicraft goods
outlets and is extremely cost-effective. After the base mix is heated,
it is easy to add moisturizing oils, milk, or other spices to spice up
your soap and add to its benefits. Once this has been done, you can
then pour it into the mould of your choice.

There are a multitude of ADVANTAGES TO USING HOMEMADE SOAP.

FIRST off, it is highly cost effective.

SECOND, using homemade soap is much more healthy for your skin than
using industrial soaps. This is due to homemade soap’s higher fat
content than what is found in industrially manufactured soap.

THIRD, you can then customize your homemade soap by adding
emollients like shea butter, glycerin and jojoba oils.

FOURTH, using these soaps is beneficial for many dry skin disorders.

FIFTH, you can even add special ingredients not found in any
commercially available soap. This is exceedingly practical when there
is a need to treat skin disorders that requires the application of
special herbs.

SIXTH and most importantly, soap making can be an extremely
interesting process, and it can give one a huge amount of
satisfaction.

It is therefore no wonder that an increasing number of people would
now choose to make their own homemade soap rather than buying it
commercially.
