Discover the 7 Simple Steps To Keeping Your New Bonsai Tree Alive & Well

Dear Fellow Bonsai Owner,

Hi, I'm Christine Taylor. If you just answered yes to the above question you have come to the right place and you are not alone!

I was given my very first Bonsai tree as a gift from my wonderful husband, Max. It was for our first wedding anniversary and he presented me with the most beautiful Japanese Green Maple and it had a card attached that read...

To my dearest Christine,

This small tree is a symbol of our marriage.  As it continues to grow and flourish with nurturing and care, we will continue to shape and mould it throughout the years, to make it even more beautiful than it already is today. (Apparently they live a long time).

All my love

Max

I know that may seem a little cheesy to some of you, but I thought it was the most beautiful and thoughtful gift I had ever received! (Isn't he a sweetheart?!)

However, as beautiful as it was, on the inside I was freaking out! Here I was, charged with the care of a not only, gorgeous, but very symbolic Bonsai tree. I had heard that Bonsai gardening was somewhat of an art and it took a bit of work to maintain such beauty and I had the 'brownest thumb' a person could have!

At first it seemed to be going along okay. It still had all its leaves and they were green and I was very happy with my efforts. And my efforts were great...I was paranoid about killing it.

I had searched for some information about how to care for my tree, and while I found some, there really wasn't much in the way of information back then, not in an easy to understand format for a beginner anyway, so I mostly had to rely on 'trial and error'.

Well I'm afraid 'error' was how this story ended. I'm ashamed to admit that, as time went by and I became more 'relaxed' with my (uninformed) efforts, my beautiful little Bonsai tree began to suffer. I would give it a quick 'splash' from time to time when I thought of it but the neglect soon began to show.

Its leaves began to turn a yellowy/brown and eventually fell off altogether. Gradually it reached the stage where the branches were so fragile looking, that they may have snapped off just by blowing on them!  Long story short, my Bonsai tree was dead!

My husband had spent $68.95 on that tree!

It was meant to symbolise our marriage

and I had neglected it and ultimately

killed it!  Luckily for me, Max is a very

understanding guy!

That was 15 years ago and I'm happy to report that our marriage is as strong and happy as ever. I'm also happy to report that the tree I bought him to replace our 'anniversary' tree (for about half that price, in case I screwed it up again!) is also alive and well and stronger and more beautiful than ever!

The reason for sharing my story with you today, is so that you can see that we all have to start at the beginning, but more importantly, it is so that you can see why I decided to write this book.

I'd like to save you from having to go through the 'trial and error' that I did to learn the art of Bonsai gardening, and help you to learn the simple steps that can mean the difference between your new Bonsai tree growing and flourishing or wilting and dying.

I also want to assure you that, you don't necessarily need to be a Bonsai master just to keep your new tree alive and well.

Now these days, as you know, we have a wealth of information at our fingertips via the internet, which is great! But you know what? Even that comes with its own set of problems...

The thing is, sometimes there is too much information on the net and it can be very misleading. Other books want you to become a Bonsai master from the word go.  Add to that, the fact that most of us are so much more 'pressed for time' these days, and you may not be any better off!

I mean, really, think about it...someone just gave you (or maybe you got it yourself) a Bonsai tree. That's great...so now what? Spend countless hours surfing the net looking for whatever info you can find, only to realise after a while that so much of it is conflicting and you're none the wiser?

Well, like I said, I'm Christine Taylor.  I've been where you are. And I have the answers you need!  Right here in front of you, all your questions about keeping this new tree of yours alive and well, answered in the next five minutes, if you want!

Introducing...

Bonsai gardening should not have to freak anyone out. It is one of the most rewarding and relaxing pastimes that anyone could undertake. And in the times we live in, relaxation is a much sort after quality...I think that's why so many people have discovered Bonsai.

So, you're getting my drift here aren't you? This book is a beginners only, step by step guide, that will tell you the key basics that you need to know in order to be able to keep your new Bonsai tree alive and well, so that you too can discover the soothing effects of owning a Bonsai...probably the reason you were given the gift in the first place!

What This Book Is Not...

It's not a picture book of the many different species of trees (although it will show where to find some).

It's not a book that covers the many categories and sub-  categories of Bonsai styles and how to achieve and maintain them.

And it's not an advanced reference to the refinement skills necessary to make your tree 'show ready'.

What This Book Is...

Is a step by step beginners guide to the absolute basics that you must know in order to keep your Bonsai tree alive and healthy.

It focuses soley on the 7 important areas that are key to the survival of the tree.

And it arms you with the knowledge on which to build a foundation for the future if you find that you would like to learn the more advanced art of being a Bonsai master.

I am a Bonsai tree lover, not a scientist, so you won't have to decipher any jargon, I speak plain English!

You won't have to worry about wading through pages and pages of irrelevant information that's just there to make the book seem bigger. It's not meant to be big and take a week to read...you can have everything you need to know right away.

Grab a coffee, sit back and relax for an hour and learn what you need to know in a simple step by step fashion. Print it out if you like and highlight actions so that you can have it handy when you are caring for your tree.

'my bonsai tree is thriving'

Thankyou Christine!  My bonsai tree is thriving and I'm even thinking of buying a second one thanks to you.  All my questions were answered so simply and I love how, when I have a question related to, say watering, I can go straight to that section and easily find the answer in plain english.  Fantastic.  Two 'green' thumbs up to you!!
