Know A Design Will Work Before You Crop A Single Photo
Sketches are diagrams that give you an overview of your project. They allow you to see how your photos will be arranged and how the different elements of your page work together. By using sketches you will be able to see if your design works and if you like it before you even start scrapping.
One of the biggest time wasters for us scrappers is indecision and procrastination. But with a sketch, you’ve already eliminated most of the indecision. You’ll know at a glance how everything will be arrange and exactly what you need to make up your page – how many papers you will use, how big the letters in your title will be, what embellishments will fit and everything else.
For example, if you wanted to scrap a page featuring two vertical photos, you might use this sketch:
By looking at this sketch you can see you will need a background paper or piece of cardstock as well as four other pieces of paper or cardstock to make up the different rectangles. You will also need three circular embellishments and some letters to make your title.
You haven’t scrapped anything yet, but since you already know what you will need to make your page, you can pull it all out of your stash before you start, saving yourself a lot of time and frustration trying to figure it out as you go.
