...

"How I survived ANOREXIA
and how YOU can too!"

This book offers a collection of real-life stories of individuals
and their struggle with the eating disorder, anorexia nervosa, and
their eventual recovery from this physically harmful, psychological
condition.

_"As soon as I started seeing the disease for what it was, I began
to get my head around the complexities of the situation. I hadn't
realized that controlling my eating had really been such an important
thing for me. I kept telling myself that I wasn't a teenager; I wasn't
some high school kid dealing with social pressures. I was a grown
woman. But it soon became clear to me in group therapy that I wasn't
alone and my eating disorder had really begun much earlier than I
realized." _

That's Maureen's survival story ...
read on and discover the uplifting stories from eight other amazing
anorexia survivors

From Michelle Parsons
Melbourne, Australia

Dear friend,

If you or one of your loved ones is suffering from anorexia then
this could be the most uplifting message you have ever read.

You see, I've recently put together an e-book called "SURVIVING
ANOREXIA - A GUIDE TO RECOVERY BASED ON SURVIVOR STORIES". In it,
you'll discover 8 amazing people with one deadly thing in common ...
they all had anorexia nervosa.

But here's the good news. Every one of these 8 remarkable people
beat the anorexia. They're living proof that anorexia doesn't have to
be a death sentence; that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

So if you're feeling afraid, uncertain, and worried about the
future, then please relax. You're not alone. And help is at hand. Read
on and discover how others have coped with their anorexia and how they
battled through and eventually WON.

But first, let me explain how this book came about ...

Anorexia has always been a subject that has been close to my heart.
As a teenager I struggled with body image & self worth. I thought the
only way to be accepted & liked was if I was thin.

Looking at myself in the mirror all I could see was a big fat ugly
blob who desperately needed to loose weight. So I decided to do
something about it. I was a very active person, I walked to school
every day, about 5kms, I played tennis, netball & basketball & tried
to jog every chance I got. I believed that I needed to cut out my food
intake. I would skip breakfast & only eat an apple all day. Then at
tea time I would eat a small portion of the tea Mum dished up to me &
never, never ate desert.

I would tell people I was eating less because I wanted to "get
healthy". As a result of this extra dieting, combined with my daily
exercise & sports routine I had lost 6 kilos in a week. I was 15 at
the time & weighed around 46 kilos (40 after the rapid weight lose),
my goal was to get back to the weight I was at 11 which was 36 kilos.

I was getting comments from my Mum & extended family about not
eating & how skinny I was, which made me feel good as I still thought
I was the fattest person on the planet.

After a while, my Mum, who couldn't get through to me, finally told
my Dad, who intervened. I slowly started to eat again but was always
fearful of gaining weight.

I have never been able to look at my body & be happy with it, if I
have a few extra kilos on I feel fat & frumpy & it really depresses
me. It will always be a battle for me but I am lucky that I have great
family & friends who give me wonderful support.

I have also had a good friend of mine affected by this horrible
disease. She is a very shy person & I know right through high school
she had issues with her self image. Like me she could only see herself
as fat & ugly (which of course she was not). That is the strange thing
about anorexia, you can rationally look at other people & see them as
they are but you can not be that rational with your own body. My
friend ended up in hospital as part of her treatment & it is an
ongoing battle not to succumb to the disease again.

In this fantastic book eight people who had survived anorexia have
been interviewed. And these weren't some "Chicken Soup" stories. They
were real, warts and all, "here's how it happened" stories. Real
stories, about real people, who had beaten the odds and survived
anorexia nervosa.

A NOTE FROM A HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL:

"Having read through this collection of stories, as terrible and
dark as some of the experiences are, I can honestly say, both as a
human being and as a health care professional who has dealt with
eating disorders of various forms during the course of my career, that
the stories are profoundly inspiring.

Each of the seven stories in this volume communicates an element of
human tragedy. They explain human tragedy of a very real and personal
form. Yet, they also demonstrate that there is hope. People of all
ages and backgrounds, who have traveled to the depth of despair as
anorexics, they can still return to live normal, happy, and healthy
lives with their loved ones, continuing on a path of recovery that
gives them direction for the rest of their lives."

SARAH\'S STORY
Sarah was thirteen years old when she began developing symptoms of
anorexia nervosa, yet her low self-esteem manifest itself years before
her relationship with food deteriorated to the point that she could no
longer eat. From an abusive home, surrounded by individuals who did
not appreciate her, Sarah associated being thin with being wanted from
an early age. She then spent almost five years of her live believing
that her only means of finding love and acceptance was to deprive her
body of the nutrients it needed.
After several years of struggle, Sarah finally determined to seek
help for her condition, and embrace who she was for the first time in
her life.

MICHAEL\'S STORY
_Four years ago, Michael couldn't have told you what a calorie was
or how many calories he'd burned during the day. That was before he
went to high school and ended up paying the price for being short and
overweight. He had always been a shy, quiet boy, but until he started
at high school, he'd managed to get by. He even had a few friends in
the computer science class. When he started at high school, however,
he was immediately singled out as the class punch bag. Before long, he
too had a 'punch bag'. He turned all of his unhappiness towards
himself and towards food. He began a long, slow decline into anorexia.
It took all of his strength to emerge from it two years later. _

JANE\'S STORY
_It's not just the 'unpopular' kids who are at risk of struggling
from eating disorders due to peer pressure. In a world that presents
us with a certain image about how we should all look, it's all too
easy for the 'popular' kids to fall pray to their own myths as well. _

MAUREENS\'S STORY
_It seems to ring true that most sufferers of anorexia are
teenagers. Most people circum to the disease at a young age, usually
in their early teenage years as puberty sets in and the body begins to
go through natural but otherwise dramatic changes. In rare cases, the
onset of anorexia does not occur until later in life. Maureen was
twenty-seven when she became anorexic, although she was plagued by her
weight all of her life until that point. This is her story of
struggling with and eventually overcoming anorexia for the sake of her
son, demonstrating the rewards of perseverance and the fact that you
can conquer this disease, no matter who you are or where you come
from. _

By The Time You've Finished Reading. " SURVIVING ANOREXIA - A GUIDE
TO RECOVERY BASED ON SURVIVOR STORIES " ... You'll Feel Like A New
Person, With A New, More Positive Outlook!

One of the things that impressed me most about the eight survival
stories was what they all had in common. And it wasn't about the
clinical stuff, the stuff that most of the other websites are about.
It was the emotional stuff, the mental attitude of these survivors. It
was the certainty inside them that said "I'm going to beat this thing.
I'm not going to let it get to me."

To me that showed extraordinary strength of character, and yet here
were these eight "ordinary" people finding this strength inside
themselves. I loved the way they shared in their stories, how they
kept positive even at the lowest moments. It seemed to me reading all
the stories that this was the key to their survival.

So now I'd like to share this book with you. It's an e-book, so it's
