I just wanted enough money to pay a few bills, get a car and put some gas in it. I had been “car-less” since my old ’92 Oldsmobile Cutlass caught on fire and burned up. Really. It just burst into flames—with me in it!
Truth is I was tired of sponging off my mother and seeing the disappointed look in her eyes when I’d have to ask to borrow more money. Because everything I had tried up until that point (even starting a dairy goat farm—long story) ended in disaster. People talk about having their car “repossessed”… I ended up having 1,000 goats repossessed (really long story) by the government.

But everything I tried left me further behind. I couldn’t understand it. My email box was flooded with one report after another of guys who were just like me… with one exception… they found “the ticket out”.
I’d read their stories—some of them sounded like me almost word for word (well, except the goats ;) and others were even worse off. Then somehow “almost magically” they all managed to go from “total financial loserdom” to raking in the big bucks—overnight.

Yet no matter how hard I tried nothing
ever seemed to change… until
I was living in the same small town I grew up in. It’s the kind of place where it’s not uncommon to find 3 and 4 generations of families still there… where everybody knows everybody (or at least it seems that way).
I grew up attending a local church… the same church my mother was raised in and her mother, too. For years I kept hearing about this one girl who grew up in the same church… she was a few years older than me so we didn’t hang out together growing up but our families knew each other well.
Anyway, I’d been hearing about her since I was a teenager. How she’d become a millionaire… living in one of those big fancy houses—you know, all the stuff that “millionaires” do. In our church we don’t have many “millionaires” (I’ve only ever known of one other) so she’s always been a bit of a mystery to people.
And she sounded like just the person to help me...
I found out she had written a book. Actually, I found the book while I was at my aunt’s house—it was sitting on her coffee table. As soon I as saw it I grabbed it (and took it home with me).
I read it that night… then again the next day… then several more times. WOW!
I think I was finally starting to
understand what I had been missing all along
Her book was different than most it actually gave me things to “do”—which I followed to the “t” every single day. My life began to change. Really change. That was early in 2006.
Her book focused on the “mindset”—she calls it a “Million Dollar Mindset” that you MUST have in order to be successful. And she’s right. It totally changed my life.
But I wanted more
I knew she was making 7 figures—and I knew it had something to do with marketing and the internet—but I wanted to know more. I wanted to know HOW she was doing it and HOW I could, too.
I called her office but I couldn’t get through. I heard she charged crazy amounts of money just to talk to someone on the phone (4 figures!)—and her calendar was booked for months at a time.
