Since we were so successful, I decided to share our experience with others. Over the years, I have heard from so many people about how hard things are for them. They report they can't work, but have been turned down by Social Security for Disability.
I can't tell you the number of times I have heard that "everyone gets turned down the first time..." and they have been trying for years.
I can tell you from personal experience that it is simply not true. I know it can be frustrating and overwhelming--especially when you're not feeling well in the first place. Not feeling well is only part of it since you also have to figure out how to live when you have no income because you can't work. This eBook was written directly from recent personal experience. I am not presenting myself as an expert or insider with the Social Security Administration. If you hire a lawyer to help you with your application, they will not charge you any money up front. As I currently understand it, a lawyer can only charge you 25% of the first check you will get from Social Security. For example, if a lawyer helps you and you are approved in 3 months with a disability date of only 3 months, you will get 3 months of payments in your first check. As a way of estimating what that would be, let's say you will get $1,000 per month for Social Security Disability and they owe you $3,000 for your first check. Your lawyer would get $750 off the top and then give you the balance of $2,250.
I have to tell you that in most cases, that would be a "best case scenario" since most lawyers are in business to make money and $750 would be very little for them. Think about it. Don't you see all the advertising lawyers do on T.V. for you to call them for help getting Social Security Disability? Those ads are expensive and their time is also. From what I have heard from others, it is not uncommon for a lawyer to take 1-3 years (at least) in helping clients get their disability income. So, for another example, let's take that same $1,000 per month that you will get in benefits. If it takes 3 years and Social Security owes you $36,000.00 ($1,000 x 36 months), the lawyer will get $9,000.00 off the top, leaving you a balance of $27,000. Sure $27,000 sounds like a lot of money--but that is money you needed to live on for the last 3 years! You probably have a lot of catching up to do, financially, and YOU could use that additional $9,000.00--couldn't you?!!!
