Dear GTA player,

It's been 8 hours and you're playing the Grand Theft Auto game series one after another. You've got Tommy Vercetti to collect $4,000 in protection money... You've helped Carl Johnson weed out the rivals in his casino business... You've roamed almost all of Liberty City, discovering two easter eggs along the way.

The thrill of being immersed in the series is overwhelming. The feeling of pulse running from a car race hits you! The satisfaction of finishing first in a RC plane competition tightly surrounds you...

...but sadly, it all has to end when you unplug the controller and off the console... you go back to this thing called LIFE.

** Does the following scene sound familiar? **

You wake up in the morning and the only thing you want to do (and I mean the ONLY thing) is to play GTA. For some reason, life doesn't seem to offer the same amount of fun and adventure the game provides.

Work stinks with the same bloody routine of grueling paperwork. School stagnates with lessons which you'll probably forget the moment you leave the classroom.

... If only you can bring GTA with you wherever you go.

Almost every GTA player I come across want an element of GTA being installed in their lives. Many visualize themselves roaming in their hometown, carrying out missions just as a GTA character would around Liberty City, Vice City or San Andreas. Many want to be involved in multiple roles, meaning - one moment you are the driver, next you are a "vigilante", and the next you are a film studio owner... The roles go on.

Which is why I am writing this letter to show you ways to "GTA-ize" your reality. Having said that, once you are finished with this letter, you'll attain a proper GTA frame set in your mind. With it, school or work will NOT be seen as a crappy routine but instead, it will be a place for you to "operate" and gain influential "respect".

I want to show you that the GTA adventure you have is DUPLICABLE in life, so...

If You Want to "PLAY YOUR WORLD", This Is The Right Place.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Ty Liquido, hardcore GTA gamer and owner of a social-gaming company. As you can tell, my life revolves around games, and I use concepts and ideas learned from GTA (its stories, characters, plots) to apply in my daily life. With that, most people would regard me as a "video game philosopher" as well.

But before you laugh, I found each GTA game in the series to contain valuable, learnable gems that can boost your life with more JUICE and literally assist you in ACHIEVE what you desire to get, all without sacrificing the radical fun in the process. Is it absurd to study a video game and use its stories to inspire ourselves? Not at all, listen to what this chap has to say.

"It never occur to me that concepts from the GTA series can crawl outside of the game and into my life. But now I know!"

Among all my friends, I'm usually the fastest among them to get a 100% completion for the GTA series. I'm a total fanatic when it comes to discovering new stuffs and conquering mission after mission.

As I follow the GTA main character storyline, I realised all of them told a tale about the rise of a felon who fought the odds to be a major player on the streets. Those are tales of becoming SUPREME. But I'll admit that I just watch the tales like a movie, and not picking up messages which can help me emulate the characters' supremacy.

Here's what my life looked like 2 years back. My life was alright, not horrific yet not good as well. I'm a part time student who works in an office setting. That won't fit the term "supreme" for sure. Most times, I find it hard to find the "push" to do the required work. Call it a case of lack of incentives. But deep down, I do want to have accomplishments of my own.

In February 2005, I have the privilege to meet and talk to fellow GTA player, Ty Liquido. He is one energetic dude who certainly has fun ideas in his cranium. I listened to his views about learning from GTA and transfering the fun into real life.

He showed me how I can construct my own mission map with blips and stuff. Then he listened to what I wish to achieve in life and broke them down into parts, each representing a "GTA-styled mission". From there, I based my missions with the map as a guide. Each missions must be completed until the supreme level I define for myself is reached.

It's almost like I'm playing GTA in real life and I'm the main character!

It never occur to me that concepts from the GTA series can crawl outside of the game and into my life. But now I know! From that day onwards, I never look back because if your life is mission-based, there is something to look forward to everyday.

It has been for me. Let's just say that I've been having THRICE as much fun with my life than before. I've productively completed missions after missions and it's bringing me closer to my plans in life.

Now GTA is more than a game. Each time I played it, it acts as a reminder of living life powerfully and playfully!

I'd love to tell you the history of how the idea of GTA becoming a life-guiding source came about.

It all began in one of my best years, 2002. It was because I got hold of the game - GTA III. (Yep, I was late in playing it for a year.) The moment I picked up the controller, I was sucked into a world of surprise, exploratory gameplay and adventure.

At that time, I got so immersed in the game that instinctively, I knew there will be GTA sequels for decades down the road.

Because GTA III is centered around a mafia and yakuza gang related theme, I tend to play and pick up some "Street Rules" or lessons on how to conduct yourself in order to survive and thrive in the big city.

Plus, the GTA universe mirrors our world very well and if the main lead in the game has so much adventure and eventual triumph, there's no reason why we shouldn't draw ideas that would assist us to be in a triumphant position. I compile these ideas into a journal. Of course with just GTA III alone, the ideas wouldn't make up many pages. But the big deal came shortly when...

... GTA: Vice City was launched. This time round, weeks after weeks of playing were spent. No corner in Vice City was left unexplored... no radio station was left unheard... all of it done so I can absorb more street rules to enter into the journal. The journal got fatter, to say the least.

Long story short, when GTA: San Andreas arrived two years after that, the ritual of staying in front of the TV and sucking concepts from the game continued. (The biggest chunk of learning was tapped from San Andreas, no question about it.) Then followed by GTA: Liberty City Stories and GTA: Vice City Stories...

Has It Helped Me And Can It Help You?

To just pluck concepts from Grand Theft Auto without any form of practical use for them is as good as nothing. So, during the process of collecting concepts learned from playing GTA series, I absorb and APPLY the concepts in my life to see what happens.

Testing the GTA ideas is a MUST because personally, I am curious to know to what extent do they work.

The test process is simple. Try it out and record whatever GTA concepts that worked, discard or modify whatever that doesn't and blend everything together into an 'IDEA CORE'. What happened when I live and breathe the ideas?

Here goes...

The results were astonshing! Firstly, just like the GTA games, I made efforts to travel around my city to meet people. I got to know people from different backgrounds and many were helpful in assisting me in my personal endeavors.

Today, there are dozens of invitations to parties launched at me and opportunities to know new people sprouts itself. It's virtually impossible to attend them all!

Then, more productivity were pumped into my social gaming business. (Just to let you in on an idea, I treat running my business just like how Tommy Vercetti or CJ would run theirs. It's about going out to meet "Big Guns", establish good contacts and start something!) It's rewarding because I currently work with two major govenment agencies as well as dealings with the nation's military.

Best of all, I did it with tons of massive vigor and fun. Everyday is stimulating and I won't want to wait to get started.

"You Would Feel It Too If The Kicks Of Living In A GAME-LIKE World Hits You."

I want to take the ideas to a new level. I've decided that since my life has been given so much 'POW', it's time the idea is shared only with GTA players. (Afterall, only you guys would understand what I'm talking about as opposed to none-GTA players.)

The compiled ideas in the journal are boiled down into a book called - GTA-ology: What I Need to Know In Life I Learned From Playing Grand Theft Auto

Here's what some readers say about the book:

"Thanks for showing me something about GTA that I'll never realise on my own."

I'm not someone who wants to create a big "Microsoft-ic" empire to take over the world. I just want to do what I love, namely to be a successful comedy writer in three years time.

GTA-ology kick-start directions in myself to pursue what I love because I usually found myself stuck in the "I know I want to do it, but hell... I'll do it next week" mentality.

The focus of inserting GTA concepts into my daily life has helped me plan my days, carry out missions and I'm definitely moving light speed towards a superb comedy career!

By the way, I've just went for four comedy writing interviews in two days. Previously I would go for only one interview every six months!

Now, I look forward to taking on challenges (because they pump adrenalin into my bloodstream!). It feels no different from playing GTA.

GTA-ology is bloody brilliant! Thanks for showing me something about GTA that I'll never realise on my own.

- Shawn Samora

... funny, enlightening, and entertaining.

I've read this book from cover to cover, and played the game! GTA-OLOGY brings the philosophy of the game and applies it to real life. It's practically about going from Zero to Hero, except now it's not confined to your TV screen, it's about living your dreams and making them real. Ty Liquido writes in a laid back style, it feels like Tommy Vercetti is giving advice on how to achieve success the GTA way. That, I find funny, enlightening, and entertaining. - Lance E Ong (from Amazon reviews)

A must have for any GTA fan.

This is a very good book. I finished it in about 45 mintues, because it is a short book, but it's definitely worth it. A must have for any GTA fan.

"I deal with 'wankers' with more 'game-like' skills now!"

Avid Grand Theft Auto players will know what I'm talking about when I say "Couldn't our world be just a little bit like GTA?"

Granted, GTA has a semi-fantasy setting and repeating the in-game "6 wanted star" crimes on planet earth could get you thrown into a dirt-laden cell.

But that doesn't mean there's no in-game meat you can pick up to repeat in life. (For Ty Liquido, he's picked up tons, but more about that later.)

Other than playing GTA for 4-5 hours straight every weekend, I'm involved in an advertising firm. Everything is great about my work except the bits where I've to call and meet clients. Schmoozing and gaining respect of clients can be a bitch. (Don't blame me, some of them can really be wankers.)

Now, it's different.

GTA-ology has a section that turns influencing and gaining the respect of people into a game process. When talking to clients, I learned to visualize a respect bar in my field of vision and imagine it being filled up gradually.

And it's easy, just by demonstating my expertise to clients, it'd lift the clients up and before long, my respect bar gets filled up.

So you see, gaining respect is like a game as opposed to being a hateful thing. Credit goes to GTA-ology as I deal with 'wankers' with more 'game-like' skills now.

And just a side memo, I'm recently taking up flying lessons (just like San Andrea's CJ, yeah?) as a hobby. Again GTA-ology gets the credit because I've always wanted variety in life but had been putting it off. Reading GTA-ology unlocks the combination that unleashes the will to go live an entertaining lifestyle.

Just to Set The Record Straight, Let Me Tell You What GTA-ology is NOT:

It is NOT... a book of game cheat codes for the GTA series. (You can find a lot of sites that offers such codes)

It is NOT... a strategy guide for the GTA series for PS2, Xbox, PSP or PC. (If you are looking for guides for playing the game, I recommend Bradygames. They offer awesome guides!)

GTA-ology consists of practical concepts, all there to assist you with different areas of your life.

No matter where your life is right now, as long as you're a GTA player, you'll find it useful to pull ideas out from GTA-ology.

What's more...

You design the type of eventual 'big player' GTA character you see yourself to be. And since it's easy to absorb, you build for yourself your ultimate GTA figure in just 5 minutes after reading it.

You'll look forward to coming up and carry out adventurous missions for yourself to engage in everyday (the way a GTA guy would!)

Construct your own mission map based on your own locale, hometown and city. (Complete with blips, contact points and safe houses on the map)

You'll meet new allies (or friends of friends), all who hold a variety of skills that can help you with your personal missions and projects. (GTA case in point: Big projects such as heists... Well...)

Design a plan to expand your influence as you meet more people and explore more of your locale!

4 ideas to increase the amount of "Respect". (There's even a trick to place a virtual respect bar in your field of vision... like GTA) With respect comes people wanting to work for you... to follow your lead!

Ideas to increase the amount of "Stamina" you have. You'll need the energy to run around your city, gaining influence and powering up yourself.

How many safe houses do you own currently? Learn a way to increase your safe houses! (Add more places to sleep in for yourself!)

Get ideas to develop an arsenal of skills for yourself! (The equivalent of Bike Skills, Flying Skills in GTA. Find your type of skills you need in you everyday missions!)

Custom dressing for the occasion. Tux wear or tattoo wear... get tips to dress in the right attire for the right mission.

Money! Creating assets that makes you tons of cash in your city. Pocket multiple income streams from your lines of business (This segment of the book guides you to build your own empire the way a GTA character does... and enjoy a lavish lifestyle)

Saving game in real life (no kidding, whatever you achieve in your life to this point can be saved)

Being an "effective rebel" like CJ. There are ways to do it without the swat team coming for your ass. You'll learn how to live life NOT being push-over wimp but daring to strive.

The one attitude that made every main character in GTA attain the eventual power status. Learn this and you'll be the one to own your town.

Close to a hundred pages of hot-stuff and written in a style that would be readily absorbed into the brain of a GTA player.

These Are Virtually The

GTA CHEAT CODES FOR YOUR GAME OF LIFE!

As you read the book, you'll be stimulated to GET the toys you want, BE the character you wish to be and DO the activities you always wanted to do. ALL of it GTA-styled! It is definitely NOT far-fetched to say if you follow GTA-ology closely, a life booked solid with power activities, travelling and action is yours!

And the book is delivered to you in an easy to read, printable e-book format.

I know what you're thinking. Why isn't it a physical book?

My answer is because there IS in fact an actual physical book, you can even check it out on Amazon here. But don't bother because the thing about a printed book is... once it's published, it's hardened in cement. You can't add or update things to it until the next edition.

Worse, there is always a fear for authors to keep their book 'on the right tracks', without any controversy because publishers may turn it down.

Now I present the e-book version of GTA-ology where in future, whenever there is a new GTA game out and after I've played it, new concepts will be updated in the digital book and you'll get the freshest ideas rightaway. (By the way, the latest version is updated till GTA: Vice City Stories)

Plus, since this is published as an e-book, no publisher can come to me and say "Perhaps you should delete the 's' word here."

So here it is, GTA-ology in it's frickin unapologetic format as an e-book.

How much for it?

If you checked out the Amazon price for the book's old version, it's $12.99. BUT there's no reason to charge more than that for this latest version. So I think valuing it at $9.97 should sit comfortably with you.

With that, it's not too expensive. You're going to spend $9.97 on things on a daily basis already, so I think it's reasonable you can use the same amount to attain a great GTA-styled life experience.

But Wait! One 'BIGGIE' Bonus For You...

Having said it's an e-book that updates whenever new GTA concepts pop up, I think it would be stupid of me to charge you every time there is an update.

So here goes...

Within one year from your date of purchase, whenever there are updates to GTA-ology, you'll get a secret link to download the latest edition absolutely FREE.

That's right. 365 days it is.

But here's one more thing -- Because as a GTA fan, I do stuff that is almost as insane as those characters in the game. So...
