I could go on and on with the stories about the registered saddle-bred mare I paid $100 for because they couldn't load her into the trailer the week before and they were fed up. She loaded nicely on the second try and had thousands invested in training. Then there was Edgar the Clydesdale, and his brother Skinny. These guys had spent the last 5 years at pasture not cared for very well at all. RULE #1: LIMIT YOUR RISK! Never, ever, ever pay more than $300 for a horse you find with this program! Limiting your downside is key to gaining consistent profits trading horses.

RULE #3: NEVER PAY MORE FOR A HORSE THAN YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN GET AT THE AUCTION. Not to say you would sell at the auction, but this way you limit your losses.
RULE #4: BUY MORE THAN ONE HORSE AT A TIME! When you are selling horses, you need to have a selection of horses for your customer to review. It's much easier to get someone to come out and inspect your horses if you have 10 for sale than if you have just 1 . And when they come and look and you have lots of sizes and colors and ages and levels of experience to choose from, the question is not, "TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY?" The QUESTION BECOMES "WHICH ONE WILL I BE TAKING HOME TODAY?"

Those in the know laughed when they saw the skinny horses I bought at the auction for $30 apiece.
My neighbor across the street was a highfalutin horse lady who had some super event horse and definitely knew more about horses than I did. A classic horse know-it-all. She thought I was a total idiot for buying those skinny horses. Even the lady at the auction said, "What are you going to do with those skinny horses?" Like I was crazy or something. I didn't know any better... I told her I was going to feed them. Seemed simple enough to me, and you know what... it worked! You wouldn't believe how nice those horses looked after they got some good grub in their bellies and a little assistance from a farrier. The nice thing about that bunch of skinny horses is they were all bomb proof dead broke perfect kids horses. Not to say all skinny horses are like these were, but I guess I just got lucky, lucky like a fox!
Remember my risk was only $30 per horse on that bunch!
What she didn't tell me ...
IN ADDITION to all those cool moves on the video, this beautiful Paso Fino did another trick ... it liked to throw its rider. I am glad I didn't take him for a test drive when I bought him or I never would have picked him up in the first place ... Since I had no experience with horses, I did hire some crazy trainer to come in and ride some of my horses; and at his suggestion I hired a horse chiropractor.
The chiropractor did appear to know what she was doing. She gave the horse a massage and said he was suffering from headaches. She showed me a few stretches to put the horse through before riding him. She then mounted the horse, rode him, and upon her return, told me what a great horse he was, and we scheduled another visit.
I placed him for sale on a website I found on the Internet and a nice lady came with 30 ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS in her hand ... $3,000 and TOOK HIM AWAY! Of course, I gave her the straight scoop on the horse and let her know that he had thrown someone recently. She rode him and felt that he would be a great replacement for her Paso Fino that just died. She said she could re-train him and they were a match made in heaven!

Now, I could go on and on about the benefits of quitting your job, doing what you love, staying at home with the kids and the horses and meeting nice folks and sending them home with a new horse, but you and I both know the chances of that actually happening are slim to none... I know you're thinking who in their right mind would buy a blind horse? Well, I admit that I got suckered into that transaction. I had no idea this nice looking quarter horse that I paid a whopping $240 for was half blind.
