2. Counting calories.

This is by far one of the most common mistakes that is done by the majority. Because it requires the most minimal of effort! After all, you’ve been through a busy day, so it’s justified! And it only makes sense, the more calories you take in, the more fat your body will store right?

Well, it’s true . . . partially!

[]The reason I say that is because your body is never that simple, it’s a series of complicated mechanism that comprises of cells and hormones that is affected by the tiniest things, say emotion. So, in order for everything to work properly, you need to make all of the puzzles fall into place. That’s why if you count calories, it wouldn’t work for long. Sure it will work for a while, but then everything is just going to revert back to the way it was! That’s because you did not change the other aspects of your body, and your body is affected by your lifestyle and your attitude.

3. Boring, suffering, and tasteless dieting . . .

Another mistake that the vast majority commits. Just because everyone does it doesn’t mean it’s right. I really do not know why people want to tortu[]re themselves this way. There are better way to do things and this is not one of it. Well, the major problem with this one is not that it doesn’t work. The major problem with this is that it will not last and it’s not effective . . . Sure, if you can keep it up long enough, it will work someday. I don’t know when, but someday . . . no promises man!

Well, keep it up if you wish, I just prefer my way of eating whatever I want and still losing more weight that people that eat tasteless stuff!

Nevertheless, I know some of you might still be skeptical about what I just shared, thinking its too good to be true. It is not, I can assure you. I used to work in the real estate industry, being the competitive line that it is, I have no time for anything else. I was fat, weak and in pain. Then, there was this one time, when my friend bought this Suzuki Hayabusa (GSX1300R) and showed it to me, It was a beautiful and being the photogenic guy that I am, so I thought, “Yeah, why don’t I take a picture with it! So I did, nevertheless the results is not what I had expected it to be, if not far from it. I looked old, fat, and plainly out of shape. Now don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with being un-good looking and taking picture with the cool bike, but what is wrong in every way is being un-good looking and trying way too damn hard to look cool and failing miserably while taking picture with a cool bike! I felt disgusted, disgusted enough to erase the existence of the picture from the face of the earth and that’s also when I decided enough was enough! I’m going to start workout! I’m gonna look good again!

So I start going to the gym, lifting weights

I go for extreme dieting: eating steamed chicken breast for every meal (no salt, no sugar, no fat)

taking those weight loss pills

Count calories and buckled down

Avoid junk food and partying with friends

till I got really busy with my work (because I can’t really afford to slack off for too long). That’s when everything went downhill. All my progress, my commitment, strength, my results, all gone. Like it was never there, just because I was too busy. Realizing my progress going to waste, I started going to the gym again when I’m not that busy. Thus, I got trapped in this cycle of busy and non busy seasons and going and not going to gym habits. It was not going well for me,

 

At one point I even tore both my shoulder muscle tissue, forcing me to go through expensive therapy.



I could not workout for months. I gain those weights back AND MORE…I almost gave up on my dreams and myself. I was crying every night at that time, thinking of the “what ifs”.

I lost my hope, This journey left a scar on my shoulder and my heart. I was even telling myself “Hey, being fat is not that bad, at least I can eat whatever I want”.

Funny thing happened after that, I met an old friend who never went to gym and he eats more junk food than me (both in volume and variety), and yet ne never seems to have struggles with his weight. I couldn’t believe it, someone so close to me and someone I literally see everyday has the solution for my problems all along, and yet I was so blind to not realize for more than 10 years!

I was envious of him. I later pour out to him and he reveals to me his system which is backed by extensive research and how the human body works.
