RVer's Guide to Internet Access on the Road

RVers Guide to Internet Access On The Road

Thousands sold since the first eition!
Hello, my name is Steven Fletcher and I'm the author of the RVers Guide to Internet Access on the Road. My wife Fran and I have been full time RVers for eight years now and during that time we've used the internet to earn a living as well as keep in touch with family and friends.
When we first started full time RVing the only practical way to get on the internet while RVing was via a phone line. Like so many RVers we lugged the laptop to the office each day. What a hassle.
If we planned to stay for a month or two in one place we would have a phone line installed. Vary convenient but installation fees make this expensive and in more remote areas dial-up internet connections are slow.
Thankfully, these days, there are many ways to connect to the Internet while RVing. I researched them all. In my eBook I explain them all. Over the years I've used most of the methods so you will learn from my firsthand experiences.
For example:
Internet by Cell Phone
Many RVers are now using cellular phones to go online. For the most part, these connections are relatively slow, but to RVers who otherwise need to find a phone line to plug in their modems, it seems like a miracle to go online from the comfort of their motorhome or trailer. Some even get online going down the road.
Wi-Fi makes it Easy and FAST
Perhaps you have heard of Wi-Fi, or "Wireless Internet," where you can connect at broadband speed (fast) at RV parks, truck stops, Starbucks cafe sand even some McDonald’s restaurants. The number and locations of these 'hotspots' is growing rapidly. Truck stops are of special interest to RVers since they are often the preferred fuel stop. Refuel and get your email too.
Thousands of RV parks offer Wi-Fi service. KOA has already installed Wi-Fi at many of its RV parks with hundreds more locations coming soon. Lots of independent parks are too. In my eBook you'll learn how Wi-Fi works, how easy it is to get connected and how much it costs... sometimes it's free!. You will also learn how to find hotspots. And of course all the info is especially gear toward RVers on the road.
Get Connected Anywhere with Satellite Internet
More and more RVers have installed satellite internet systems that allows them to be online virtually anytime and anywhere. This is especially useful for RVers who visit remote areas or need to know they will have internet wherever they go. While a satellite system is still an expensive option you may be surprised to know prices have dropped ... a lot. I'll tell you how and where we got out system and review the pros and cons.
