Here’s my story:
My name is Emma and I am a highly recognized Naturopath (Natural Doctor ND), Vedic Astrologer, Raw Food Chef and Spiritual Teacher. My life is dedicated to helping mothers have beautiful, healthy babies. That’s my passion in life!
My little angel is called Jahla, and you won’t believe how amazing she is!! My partner and I had both studied to become Naturopaths (Natural Doctors) together because we wanted a holistic pregnancy and natural birth.
Everything was perfect until one morning I woke up and found some unusual fluids coming from my vagina. I tried to remain positive but was starting to worry. I put on a sanitary pad to catch the leaking fluids, then headed to the hospital. When I showed the midwife the pad, there was also blood on it. Both our hearts sank and we knew this was a very bad sign.
I was totally unprepared for the team of doctors and nurses who’d be doing a vaginal examination. There was team of 5 doctors and nurses and it was really embarrassing and scary for me.
After their thorough examination, they told me some really tough things to hear. They sent me home but said that there was good chance that I would lose my baby. I was heartbroken. I went home and prayed all day and tried to visualize my uterus completely healed.
I had some very hard days ahead of me and every day, I just remember thinking, “Why me? Why is this happening to me? I’ve done everything right. I have no idea why this is happening.”
The following day I started having contractions and headed for the hospital right away. The contractions kept up for the whole night and in the morning I realized that the baby wasn’t moving anymore. I knew then that my baby was dead. 23 weeks of loving and nurturing my baby was over.
The next few days and weeks were a blur. Even though the baby had died, the doctors said that they still had to deliver it. The whole procedure almost killed me. I was so emotionally distraught. There were a number of complications during the delivery and the main thing I remember is waking up out from under the anesthetic as the doctors were finally able to remove my precious angel. They allowed me to see her for just a few minutes and then she was taken away.
That was 6 years ago. Though time has healed many of the wounds from that awful ordeal, it truly changed my life. Today, I look at the experience as a Gift that has led me onto this amazing path, sharing my knowledge and helping pregnant mothers make it safely on their journey.
Today I have a completely healthy beautiful 9-month old baby. I had a home birth (See our video that comes as a bonus) with no hospital intervention. My little girl is perfect in every way.
After what had happened to me at the hospital, I was very scared to ever go to a hospital again. I’d also heard some horrific stories of unnecessary medical interventions from friends. It just didn’t make any sense to put myself through that again.
I feel so blessed to have a healthy baby now and the entire pregnancy was amazing. It was a very memorable experience that I’ll never forget. It has truly gone a long ways toward helping me to heal from the first experience.
