Love TEFL Hate The Pay?
LOVE TEFL HATE THE PAY?
GET RID OF THAT SINKING FEELING BY BECOMING THE HIGHEST PAID ENGLISH
TEACHER YOU KNOW!
DOUBLE YOUR INCOME WITHIN 6 WEEKS AND GIVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME TO
TRULY EXPERIENCE THE REGION YOU FIND YOURSELF IN!!
Hi,
Dear fellow English teacher, my name is Christopher John and in the
next few minutes I'm going to show you how you can be on your way to
becoming the highest paid EFL teacher in your area and double or even
triple your income in a shorter time than you ever thought was
possible.
Are you enjoying life? Why are YOU here?
We are all English teachers abroad for one or more of these reasons:
you either love travelling, you can save more money here than you
could back home while having new experiences or you wish to be able to
live in the country and teaching is the easiest way in. Even if, shock
horror, you love teaching children then one of the reasons mentioned
above will still resonate with you or you would be a teacher in your
home country. We all know the benefits of TEFL. Often new teachers
arrive thinking they are going to be paid to have a glorified holiday
and save a big chunk of change. This isn't the case and you know it.
Teaching can be physically and mentally demanding and that's without
taking your co-workers or even worse your boss into account! If the
school even cares about your level of teaching ability then it is very
unlikely that it will translate into higher pay it might mean more
work though unpaid of course!
Private students?
Is it any wonder that so many teachers see private lessons as a way
of supplementing their income? If you are one of them then you will
know the downside of private lessons. The frequent cancellations, the
fact that you can only charge a bit more than you're teaching hourly
rate at your job in the school, that in many countries it is illegal
and the difficulty in making it across town to different appointments.
All in all the shear unpredictability and not being able to rely on
private tuition as a guaranteed source of income is intensely
frustrating.
The amount of TEFL pay you are able to save is attractive at
first... but it won't continue to look so good year after year!
Then there's the future. TEFL is often seen as a young, mature or
single persons game because can a TEFL wage (or even two) really
support two adults and however many children come along? Babies are
expensive and private (Western style) schools are even more so. You
can't realistically let your kids be educated anywhere other than a
private school in many regions. What about when you are physically
unable to teach any longer? Do you earn enough to save for retirment,
buy a house or fly home to see the family every few years? The pay may
be decent if you're fresh out of college with student loans to pay,
but after a few years (or decades) of having only a minimal pay raise
if you're lucky it becomes clear that difficult decisions have to be
made. Many teachers don't want to quit the TEFL world, they love it
and the countries it enables them to live in. They just hate the pay!
But wait...
It wouldn't be so bad if you could work fewer hours for better
money. If you knew how to get employers to be willing to pay you more
without using a crowbar to pry it out of their cold, dead and oh so
cheap hands! If you were able to find privates who were reliable,
willing to pay in advance and think nothing of you charging three
times the usual rate. If there was a way to make some of those well
connected clients see you as their peer and be more than willing to
help you overcome obstacles like visa or property issues.
Oh Yes It Can!
The good news is you can do all this! Today can be the first day of
the rest of your life. Whether you use the money to fund travel, to
ensure that you can remain an expat forever, to fund a higher degree,
to live life to the full or even for a flight straight back home it
will all be within your grasp.

How much are YOU earning every hour?
How much would you like to earn?
You don't have to buy now [1]. Read what other English teachers have
said about the secrets contained within:
I was paid $15 per hour with no raises in sight. Now I'm making $38
an hour and a $50 pay raise every 3 months for as long as I stay.
There are no two ways about it- I'm doing a heck of a lot better than
I was a couple of months ago - Mark Griswold
YES! You have so absolutely got the right idea. I wonder who is
going to pick up on this little goldmine of yours? - Kathrine Atta
Practical, no fluff, to the point book. A very easy read but if
you're a teacher who puts the information contained into practice then
you can climb the salary ladder quite quickly - Craig Murphy
A very solid approach. A successful teacher can earn a lot of money.
From the employer's point of view, teacher who does this will be paid
higher for sure. Experience as seniority is not counted in schools -
Sarah Wesley (DOS)
I've changed my way of looking at employment. Rather than looking at
employment as a situation where I hope a boss will give me what I
deserve, I now look at it as a situation in which I'll earn what I
want- Jack Robbins
I know a few people who make over NT$100,000 per month teaching
English in Taiwan. However, their method is not very smart. It
basically involves teaching as many hours per week as possible. It
doesn't take a genius to work out that teaching for 25 hours per week
at NT$1,000 per hour is infinitely preferable to teaching 40 hours per
week at NT$600 per hour. I like your more thoughtful approach to this
problem - David Reid
Thanks again! Very practical information. I feel like I've been
upgraded from being a Casio to a Rolex! Like my late Grandmother told
me, "If all you're selling is your time, at least make sure that
you're getting paid enough for it!" Best wishes! - Jen Taylor
You will be making over 40 dollars an hour- Anthony Wren
