Testimonials

The Shaman recording is incredibly soothing. I felt a real sense of
peace and spiritual tranquility when I listened to it. There are
several questions that I have been contemplating and as I experienced
the program, answers began to come forth in the form of distinct
images and voices. The binaural beats cause a pleasant awareness that
I plan to continue exploring. Thank you so much. - ANDREA L

BRAIN ENTRAINMENT

Using an electroencephalogram, or EEG, it is possible to measure and
even see brainwaves. The wave-like form is where brainwaves get their
name. They are created by the electrical activity in the brain
produced by the neurons. Neurons are the cells that make up the brain.

Research has discovered that brainwaves can not only represent a
person’s state of mind, but they can also be manipulated to alter a
person’s physical and mental state as well. This discovery has led
to many studies and therapies designed to help people with mental and
emotional disabilities.

WHAT IS BRAIN ENTRAINMENT AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

In physics, entrainment refers to one thing affecting another thing
using energy. Tuning forks are an excellent example of entrainment.
When a tuning fork is hit it vibrates at a certain frequency, when
placed near a second tuning fork, the second will begin to vibrate at
the same frequency.

Brainwave entrainment is the same concept. It is the attempt to alter
brainwave frequencies to induce or change various mental and physical
states. This can be done using visual or audio stimulation such as
rhythmic pulses of sound or light. The brain attempts to adjust its
brainwave frequency to match the stimulus. Because brainwaves are so
connected to a person’s mental state, stimulating the brain to
control brainwave frequency can alter concentration levels, induce
relaxation or control emotional responses.

Effects of brainwave entrainment vary from person to person but
typically the brain will entrain within just a few minutes in response
to an audio stimulus. With time and repeated exposure over several
months, the effects may become permanent.

TYPES OF BRAINWAVES

Brainwaves bands have been found to be connected to different
conscious states. While the brain is always producing every type of
brainwave, depending on the strength a person could be said to be in a
particular band. For instance a person who is sleeping may be in a
Theta or Delta band while a person who is reading a book may be in a
Beta band. There are four separate frequency ranges:

- BETA (12HZ - 38HZ) – Fully awake and alert.
- ALPHA (8HZ - 12HZ) – This is the state just before going to sleep
or soon after waking up. Awake yet relaxed.
- THETA (3HZ - 8HZ) – Very relaxed or during a light sleep.
- DELTA (0.2HZ - 3HZ) – The slowest band is often occurring during
a deep unconscious sleep.

WHAT ARE ISOCHRONIC TONES?

Simply put, an isochronic tone is a single sharp pulse of sound that
is turned on and off very quickly. Research has shown that the use of
isochronic tones in brainwave entrainment has been successful in
reducing anxiety and increasing concentration. It is generally thought
to be the most effective sound-based method of brain entrainment and
produces the strongest responses in the brain.

Brainwave entrainment is generally a safe practice with few negative
side effects though it is advised to consult a physician prior to
doing beginning if you have a history of seizures or auditory
