Lasting Student Ministry - 14 Top Student Ministry Leaders Reveal What
They'd Do...

14
Top Student Ministry Leaders Reveal What They'd Do
If They
Had To Start All Over Again... From Scratch

Launch
Update 8.30.07:
We've now sold 301 ebooks since we opened 6 months
ago (2/28)!
We've had youth leaders from all over the U.S, France,
Norway, U.K, Australia, Barbados, and Canada
grab a copy. I'm excited to see so many people become the
"first" to get their hands on this new resource.

Look at what some of them have said about the ebook here!

What
would you do if you were put into this situation as a youth pastor?...
You
are snatched from your current church (or other current job) and
put at a church in the suburbs where you have to start all over
again.  There are five kids there.
Two
are the senior pastor’s kids.  There are three boys
and two girls.  Two are in High School and three are in Junior
High.

You are asked to build a ministry that will continue on after
you leave.  You have one year to do this.  You have
a limited budget.

Where would you start?

How would
you grow this group numerically?

How would
you help it grow
spiritually?

Two even more
important questions...

How would
you make sure that what you did there would have a lasting
impact on those students' lives?

How would
you make sure you
left a ministry that would last?

I was in student ministry for about 14 years. I really loved being
a youth pastor and I miss those days.
One thing
that I hated to see in my own ministry was when students that
you poured your life into, walked away from the Lord when they
graduated.
The thing
I hated that I saw, or heard of, in other groups was when a youth
group collapsed and disintergrated when their youth pastor left.
I learned
a lot in those 14 years to know what it takes to build a lasting
student ministry, but
I
also wanted to know what others thought. I wondered...

What
would the top student leaders do if they had to start all over?

No large
church.
No large budget.
Just a small church with a small youth group.
So what did
I do? I asked them!
I began interviewing
14 top
student leaders, a year or so ago, and gave them the imaginary
situation you just read at the top here.

Jeff
Slack
Student
Ministries Pastor at the Crystal Cathedral (Garden

Youth Pastors by The Church Report Magazine.

Based on this imaginary situation, I asked these top student
leaders some simple questions:
1.What
are two common mistakes most pastors make when starting a student
ministry that you would be sure not to make?

2.What methods/steps would you use to lay a strong foundation
that would last beyond your time there?

3.What is one method/system you would use to see numerical growth
as quickly as possible?

4.What is one method/system you would use to see lasting spiritual
growth?

I was really excited to see the answers that I received and I
think you will be too.

In fact, you
can read one of the interviews right now to see an example
of what the other
13 interviews are like. That way you can know this ebook is worth
getting before you pay for it.

What are some
of the things you can learn in this ebook?

Dr. Wes
Black explains about a way of thinking to build a long term
strategy. (p. 15)
Brenda
Seefeldt talks about the secret of growing faith by creating
memories. (p. 19-20)
Dave Keehn
talks about the power of going where the students are with your
students.
(p. 23)
Mark
Oestreicher reveals a key to lasting spiritual growth in your
students by connecting them to God. (p. 26)
Greg Stier
talks about the vital need for students to grow deeper as they
reach wider. He explains how we do this through theological
truth that has a head, heart and hands application. (p. 28)
Nigel
James explains the need for you to give priority time and training
to improve your skills as a visual and verbal communicator.
(p. 32)
Jason Gerdes
reveals one of the common mistakes pastors make when starting
a youth ministry - not strategically planning around a risky
vision. (p. 33)

This is
only ONE small point from 7 of the contributors. All 14 leaders
go in more depth to answer the 4 questions about creating a lasting
student ministry.

"Scott Aughtmon is one of the most passionate and creative
leaders I know. He challenges the way I think. His ebook
is a must-read for youth leaders that want to make a difference."

Mark
Batterson
Lead Pastor, National Community Church in Washington, DC (www.theaterchurch.com).
Chosen by Outreach magazine as "The 25 Most Innovative
Churches in America". He is the author of the popular
book, "In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day" (http://www.chasethelion.com).
He writes a popular daily blog at http://www.evotional.com.

What I personally
like about this ebook is the diversity and unity
in it.

You'll
hear from student leaders who come from all different areas
of the country - and world.
You'll
learn from student leaders who are ministering and seeing growth
in all different types of cities, suburbs, etc.
You'll
learn different methods that work for each one, so you'll have
more of a chance to find one (or a combination
that works for you).
You'll
also see a few special things that are repeated from one interview
to the next. This will show you some universal concepts that
apply across the board.

ebook (.PDF
file).

How much
can you get this ebook for?
I wanted to
come up with a fair price to ask for this ebook, but still
keep it cheap enough, so that any youth pastor could afford it.
I figured,
if you went to a youth ministry conference you could pay
from from $39 up to $375 - plus travel costs, a hotel room,
and food.
You'd pay
over $20 if you bought a phyical book from just two
of these leaders.

Because
this book is digital, I decided I'd give it to you for just $12.97.

That's
cheaper than it'd cost you for a movie for two - without popcorn
and drinks! :)
My point is
that we spend or waste more money than this all the time. I figure
this a fair price for you,
but still doesn't cheapen the time, effort and content that
was put into this ebook by these student ministry leaders and
myself.

But, you know what?
I thought
I'd throw in some EXTRAS to make it an even better deal.
:)

A 4-page
E-Report: "Leadership Secrets Of Jethro"
by Scott Aughtmon - This is a report I wrote to help you discover
the only way to survive and become more effective in ministry.

A Classic
Book: " Practice of the Presence of God: The Best
Rule of Holy Life" by Brother Lawrence (c. 1605-1691)
- This book describes the secret Bro. Lawrence knew about "walking
with God" like Enoch (Gen. 5:22-24 & Heb. 11:5). This
book helped change the way I saw and understood prayer. (You'll
get a .PDF copy of this.)

You can have
all these "extras" and my ebook for about the
same price (or less) than you'd pay for ONE physical book.

"As
I read through the pre-release of this book I was amazed
at how many
different answers there were to the same questions.

" I still feel strongly about the answers that I gave,
but seeing all the other answers from my peers, who I respect,
gave me a larger picture of youth ministry overall.
"From
this book you will learn about the many ideas of youth ministry,
even ones I don't personally agree with. The unique format
of this book gives you a great collection of practical insights
from real youth workers.

" Most, like me, are actual youth workers. I
highly recommend this book for all youth ministers--those
just starting out and those wise veterans. You will take
away many nuggets and new insight to implement what you
are doing at your local church. You will because there are
so many practical insights offered."

Brenda
Seefeldt
Brenda has been working in youth ministry since 1981 and still
serves in her local church. Brenda's experiences, influences
and deft insight birthed the youth ministry resource, Wild
Frontier (http://www.wildfrontier.org), in 1990. Wild Frontier
is a place for "out there" youth ministry ideas
and resources. One of those ideas has been family-based youth
ministry so Wild Frontier spun off all of those ideas and
resources to Family-Based Youth Ministry (http://www.familybasedyouthministry.org).
Brenda is also the author of many popular resources.

You know what's really cool
about this being a digital product (.PDF format)?
The cool thing
about it being digital is that you get all the same amazing content
you'd get in a physical book, but you can have it in your hands
right now.
You can
have it instantly, at anytime, 24/7/365. It doesn't matter what
time of day it is, even if it's 1:53am. :)
Not only that,
but you can
read it on your PDA or laptop (or PC/Mac), which
makes it even more
portable.
You don't have to lug any extra books along with you!

As an ADDED benefit, I'll allow you to print it out
(or email a copy) to the leaders and staff on your team. That
means you don't have to purchase multiple copies like you
would with a physical book. (Just please don't give it
to other youth pastors.)

"I
am a youth director for Jr. and Sr. High youth groups in
a small town in
Iowa. I am always looking for ways to improve our ministry
to our youth. I
ordered How To Build A Lasting Student Ministry. I did not
get the link, but
did receive my receipt for purchasing. There was an e-mail
address for
Scott Aughtmon directing a person to e-mail if there were
problems
downloading the book. I did so and received an immediate
response. I had
already received the link for the book, but it was great
to know that
someone is so diligent to return an e-mail when you are
having a problem."

(One
of the many customers who bought on the first day (2/28)
it was offered.)

My Promise To You:
If you don't learn new ways to think of student ministry,
learn powerful new methods you can easily implement and
see a change in yourself and your youth ministry, then

away.
I
don't want to keep your money if you don't feel you got what you
paid for it. (I proud to say that I haven't had one person
ask for a refund yet!)

"Reading Scott Aughtmon's new Ebook, "...Lasting
Student Ministry" is akin to
sitting 'round a table with a band of well-weathered youth
ministry veterans
as they share their various views on assembling a student
ministry with real
eternal impact."

You'll find great insights through the streams of convergence
and divergence in their thinking and praxis. The combined
years of youth ministry experience of the ministers Scott
pulled together is in the hundreds of years."

"These folks have more to share than just a really
good crowd-breaker involving balloons, chocolate sauce,
and a live gecko!"
