I struggled with my weight since I was a little tot and could
remember anything. There were periods when I succeeded in losing some

ashamed of going out.  
I cannot starving myself. I was born and raised in a usual family
where all the members were supposed to eat up everything on the plate.

No matter how hard I tried, I was never totally satisfied. Some diets
kinda worked but none of them had any success in making my dream of a
flat belly come true. I still witnessed fat sides bulged out of my
jeans and a belly that deprived me from wearing almost a half of my
wardrobe contents.
Weekend on the beach was sheer torture to me. I imagined that
everyone there noticed my cellulite and laugh at me. I simply
couldn’t breathe out and enjoy the sun and the company of my
friends. They were mad at me when I refused to play beach volleyball
with them. I understood their irritation – they wanted to hang out
and have a good time instead of listening my obnoxious moaning or
being taken captive by my complexes. But I was scared to death when
imaging my jelly-looking belly echoes my jumping.
My nightmare, my tears, the reason of my loneliness and my fears. My
body.
And one day I woke up with a thought that it’s not supposed to be
like that!
At this point I decided to fight with my weight.

ABOUT MY PREVIOUS DIETING EXPERIENCE:
WHAT I HAVE DISCOVERED

Almost all the diets I used to come across promised “quick weight
loss without going back to your kilos!”  They all promised that
once you finished the program, you could eat whatever you want because
“your metabolism will change” or something of the kind. I dare to
say I’ve tried them all… Atkins, Zone, Mediterranean, the South
Beach, grapefruit… I can’t say they were totally useless. Most of
them helped me to lose much weight within pretty short period of time.
Some of them even really excited me. But none of them succeeded in
keeping the results post factum.
Moreover, most of these diets were really “hungry” so I literally
pounced on the food when the week or two of dieting finally came to an
end. Of course, it caused quick weight gain.

So it was until I started to accept my obesity as a matter of
course. I am fat at let’s just leave it be. Some people are white,
some are black, some have blond hair, and some have red. Some people
are skinny and some are fat. Thus I was living with my heaps’ size
constantly expanding like our Universe after the Big Bang, catalyzed
by every single burger I cannot but eat in every Burger King
restaurant I run across. I was so mad at myself for that, but it was
stronger than me. I was just born this way and it’s not my fault
that I simply can’t abnegate for myself a slice of pizza.
But this was a wrong belief. Yes, tough diets are not for me, but
we’re all responsible for our lives. Just we and no one else.

HOW I DECIDED TO TRY VEGAN DIET

The turning point for me was my breakup with a man I loved. To say I
felt bad it to say nothing. It was a great depression.
First time I ran across this method accidentally. I had no intention
to dieting or something.  It was spring and somehow I found myself
keeping the Lenten fast.
It’s not about my being very religious person, nope.... I just was
so depressed and merely tried to find an outlet. This is how I came to
Lent…
Lent lasts 40 days till Easter Sunday. It is a season of the Church
calendar that presupposes penance in preparation for the celebration
of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Church used to prescribe very
rigorous rules for the Lenten fast (including abstaining from all
sorts of meat and animal products). Nowadays the rules are much more
lax though, which is natural taking into consideration modern life
flow. I wasn’t that fanatic about it and kept it partially. And
suddenly…discovered I was losing my lbs!!
After those 40 days I started my researches and what I’ve
discovered was beyond my expectation!
I decided to change everything: from my hairstyle to my outlooks in
general. My body was the first thing I decided to start with. My final
goal was to get into skinny jeans and look ATTRACTIVE! I’m in my
skinny jeans while writing this by the way.

I continued this vegan diet plan and lost ALL of my extra weight.

I am now about 130 pounds. I was almost TWICE fatter before!! And
I’m finally happy. I really am.
