Supposedly all you have to do is go to Elance, Rentacoder or even your local High School and find someone that will whip it out for you in a hour or two for less than 50 bucks; which leads to...
You spend countless nights searching online for answers from someone who can help you (and someone who can communicate with you on your level). Reality starts to dawn on you that it's almost impossible to get the right answers when you aren't even sure which questions to ask; which leads you to...
All these "geeks" seem to speak a completely different language and the worst part is that you wouldn't even know it if they are giving you the run around or not because you don't know enough to pin 'em down on the truth. So, backed into a corner where you feel like there's no other choice, you start thinking "there's got to be a way to do it myself - there's got to be a software program that makes it as easy as using a word processing program, right?"; now you're about to enter Phase 4 of the vortex....
Sure enough after several more late nights of surfing the net you find out there are all sorts of software programs (Dreamweaver, Net Objects, FrontPage) but you discover (the hard way) that they are far from simple, and in fact each are quite EXPENSIVE. Maybe you even buy Dreamweaver but it's anything but "intuitive" so you run down to Barnes & Noble and get the thirty pound book that no-one but a programmer could possibly understand... you know what comes next, right? Of course you do...
You GIVE UP, thinking that you just aren't cut out for this type of thing... and your delusions of wealth go up in smoke... until you start all over again at Phase 1 when the next breakthrough "magic plan" comes along!
