From: Christiana Domingos
Dear Friend;
It's only days until Christmas!
f you'd like to experience a delightful Christmas musical play with all your favorite Christmas Carols, plus receive tons of help with production to make your play a delightful success, even if you've never done this before, then this might be the most welcome news you'll ever receive on the subject.
Here's why:
This play has been produced in schools, churches and by individual families in California, Maryland, Virginia, in England and in Africa. In all of these instances of production, this play has been a delightful crowd pleaser. The play gives you the opportunity to sing lots of your favorite Christmas carols.
You receive extensive easy to follow rehearsal notes, administrative and publicity documents you may copy— all to help you successfully present a memorable, delightful, stress-free, Christmas play for your church, school, club, group or family. We literally have anticipated all that you have to do to present a successful play.
Now, I know you're probably skeptical. That's normal and healthy. Consider the following five good reasons to assure you that the play will work for you.
Five Reasons To Believe
Reason one: All the characters have non-speaking roles. Without the stress of memorizing lines, forgetting lines and or misquoting lines, your audience can experience an extraordinary and delightful Christmas play. The narratives and the carols have been carefully choreographed so that together with the actions of the characters the delightful story is told.
Reason two: The play is an authentic Bible-based Christmas play centered around the events that took place before and after the birth of Christ. The four-act play is based on New Testament gospels and Old Testament references about the coming of the messiah. Here's an actual passage from the play:
"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, there came three wise men from the East, to Jerusalem, saying "Where is He that is born King of the Jews for we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him?" … And when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh."
Reason three: You will get the benefit of all the experience we have acquired with prior productions poured into the extensive color-coded program and rehearsal notes you receive with this package. Each category of notes is color-coded so that you get visual as well as written cues. Suggestion notes are in sky blue italic texts. Rehearsal notes are in: green italic texts. They tell you what actions should be taking place next as the choir sings and tell you what to prepare for the next scene so you can get the players ready.
Here are examples of actual program notes given to you so you know exactly what to do:
"Mary exits stage from the back ... at the start of the next song
Costume Person - Change Mary’s vail, put a shawl on her shoulder, and...
Stage Help - Take the covers off the bales of Hay as soon as the light is off...
At end of Narration, a “pregnant” Mary supported by Joseph enters through front entrance."
"As song #22 starts, the Choir leave their positions and walk on the stage still singing. They take up whatever space they can find on "stage" next to the characters, “framing” the sides and back of the "stage" in preparation for the picture-taking frenzy that will happen shortly."
