These are the kindnesses that new families remember and appreciate forever. It’s easy to spend money on gifts but the things that really make a difference are the services for the body and soul described above. Most of your friends and family members don’t know what they can do that won’t be an intrusion. They also can’t devote 40 hours to supporting you but they would be thrilled to devote 4 hours. If you let 10 people help you out for 4 hours, you will have the 40 hours of rested, adult support you really need with a newborn in the house. There’s magic in the little prayer “I need help.”

By allowing any form of Female Genital Mutilation (now being referred to as Female Gential Cutting by the AAP, because I guess 'mutilation' just was too offensive to for those faint hearted girl circumcisers) you are condoning the practice and basically shrugging your shoulders and saying 'oh well, we tried to stop it, but it didn't work, so I guess now we have to do it'. A ritual nick today, the whole clitoris tomorrow. Shame on you AAP. How could you betray our girls like that?

Listen all your disposable moms, these diaper companies have you in their back pocket. You are as hooked on them as a monkey is to bananas. They know you are afraid to switch to cloth diapers, after all they’ve perpetuated this image of cloth diapering as hard, messy and inconvenient. They also painted cloth diaper users as fringe and completely out of the mainstream aka freaks.

People would give me arguments galore about how conventional foods are no big deal, and actually helpful to the planet and people. I had an aunt and uncle who had a peach farm and gee, all these chemicals and gmo’s are going to help feed the hungry around the world, right?
