CHANGING TELECOM JOB MARKET IN 2010

_Changing opportunities in wireless, telecommunications, _

_Internet, Cable television and IPTV _

Keep up-to-date as the job market continues to change

_ _

Wonder about your job? How secure is it? Where will you be most
secure? Where should you be working? The answer may surprise you. The
answer may be changing for many people. The answer could be very
different than just a few short years ago.

The wireless and telecom industry have gone through enormous changes
in recent years. The companies are not the same places they were.
There are fewer companies and they are much larger. There is good and
bad, but these are very different places than just a few years ago.

If you work in the industry you already know that. What is your best
next step? To change positions in your company, to change companies
altogether, or to stay put. Making the right choice today will
determine whether you will be happy and secure tomorrow. Now is not
the time to be sleeping. That could be very costly to you.

_If you are going to change, you want to change on your terms. _

Generally speaking, wireless and telecom in general are growing and
healthy, however there are differences depending on the sector, the
company and the individual job in each company. The right choice means
you will be happy, challenged and secure. The wrong choice will leave
you empty and unhappy at best and unemployed at the worst.

Some jobs and companies are more secure than others. Some are
longer-term and others are shorter-term opportunities. This report
looks at the growth and change in the telecom and wireless industry.
It looks at the changes in the job market at various levels.

_This report is written for employees and executives. _

Example; consider how the wireless industry has changed during just
the last couple years. Suddenly Apple is a growing player in the
market with the iPhone. This didn’t even exist prior to early 2007.

Now Google is stepping into the wireless business with the same
threat and opportunity. They want to change the wireless industry.
However their plan is much different than Apples and their results –
if successful – will be very different as well. They too want to
become an important player continuing to transform the space.

Now we hear Dell will be getting into the wireless business too.
What changes will Dell make to the industry and to themselves. Will
they be successful and contend with Apple and Google?

_These are not wireless companies, but they are entering the
wireless space and are transforming every part of it from devices to
networks to software and equipment. _

These companies are aggressively transforming the space and the work
environment.

If these companies are aggressively moving into the wireless space a
light bulb should be lit over your head. Things are changing. You have
to be aware of this wave of change. It will continue to transform the
space. You have to stay on the right side of that wave for your
personal security and career advancement.

_Not all companies are created equal, as we have seen. _

The wireless and telecom job market in services, handsets and
network equipment has gone through amazing changes during the last
decade or two. In addition, the last year or two has seen some major
transformations and they are continuing. This has impact on every job
in the industry.

LETS TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE JOB MARKET IN WIRELESS AND TELECOM.

*

Is the pressure on the job market caused by the economy or changing
industry?
*

Lets look at the employment market changes during the last decade,
where we are today, and where things are heading.
*

Parts of the industry are growing and parts are shrinking.
*

Of the parts that are growing, why are some growing more quickly?
*

Parts are facing new and strong competitive forces, while others
are not.
*

The telecom industry continues to transform itself. We are in the
middle.
*

Being on the right side of the line can make all the difference for
you.
*

Will you still have your current job in a few months?
*

If your job is cut, will you be offered another position in the
company?
*

Will your company, who has needed you over the years, still need
you or will your job disappear along with many others?
*

What do mergers mean to this job market?
*

What is the future of the merger wave and what impact will that
have?
*

And much more . . .

There are so many questions being asked every day by people in
management and in the employment ranks of every competitor.

Don’t walk around with blind faith that you are in the right place.
The company you are in today is much different from the company it was
just a few short years ago. Is it still the right company for you?
Perhaps, but now is the time to think about the changes.

_THIS IS THE TIME FOR YOUR WAKE-UP CALL. _

The industry and the companies have changed during the last several
years. This is not the same industry it was, and it is continuing to
change.

We have watched wave after wave of mergers and acquisitions
transform the space. There are fewer, but larger companies today. And
they are very different than they were.

Many smaller, youthful, fun companies to work for are now larger,
stodgy and drags to work for.

Your choices have changed. No longer are there many mid size
companies to work for. Today your choice is either the major mega
companies, or the smaller niche companies.

Lets take a look at the changing industry and create a road map of
sorts to help you evaluate the security of your job for today and for
long term.

Do you want to continue working in the wireless and telecom
industry, and want an update on the changes continuing to reshape it?

This report looks at the industry as a whole, and at individual
companies and sectors and discusses the state of the opportunities in
each.

Let me fill you in on what I am hearing.

Let’s talk.
