We live in Huntsville, Alabama with our two daughters, Chelsea and Sierra, and four dogs: two Chihuahuas (Shadow and Sugar), one Maltipoo (Biskit), and one very wimpy Doberman (Reese) -- ALL FEMALE!
Yep, I'm the lone man in a houseful of women. God help me... :o)
I'm the founder, president and CEO of three successful technology companies and am a board member of the [Alabama Information Technology Association](http://www.alabama-infotech.org/), an organization committed to growing and supporting the Information Technology industry in the state of Alabama. I also work with many e-business, technology and Internet start-up companies as a board member, financial investor and advisor.
Please don't get the impression that getting to where I am today was easy.
To the contrary, I literally started with nothing and slaved for years at dead-end jobs while trying to start my own business.
At one time I was working 3 jobs just to earn $150 a week. I didn't have mentors or anyone to help me along the way. I had to figure it out all by myself.
I suppose that's why my greatest joy is helping regular folks start their own business ventures. I remember how hard it was to do it on my own. I also know how helpful a little advice from someone with more experience can be.
For several years now I've been consulting with first-time entrepreneurs, helping them launch their own successful small businesses and online ventures. Along the way I've come to be known as "The Small Business Expert".

Lately my email box has been flooded with emails from folks who are frustrated and begging for assistance. It's clear that people are sick and tired of working themselves to death for big corporations only to find that their retirement account has been raided by unscrupulous CEOs and managers. It's frustrating (and more than a little scary) when your income never seems to match your outgo. It's sad when you go to work every day feeling that you will never do better than what you're doing right now. Trust me, I've been there, so I know how it feels.
