ROCK AND ROLL HISTORY consists of RHYTHM AND BLUES, ROCK AND ROLL,
ROCKABILLY and COUNTRY MUSIC. ELVIS PRESLEY, JERRY LEE LEWIS, CHUCK
BERRY, LITTLE RICHARD and FATS DOMINO are probably the best known
Rockers but early artists include LOUIS JORDAN, WYNONIE HARRIS, BIG
JOE TURNER and IKE TURNER, who are credited with recording the first
Rock and Roll songs.

This book contains rare interviews, history, photos, humour and
little known facts about the music industry in the US, the UK and
Australia. Although there is plenty of history of Rock and Roll on the
net, this book is an attempt to put it all together, which doesn't
seem to have been attempted before. The term "Rock and Roll" is Black
slang for sex and was first coined by DJ ALAN FREED in the early
1950's. The book is written in a conversational manner and not as a
text book, so is interesting and easy to read. The lettering is large
so that seniors have no problem reading the text.

The interviews are from books, documentaries and from the author's
personal experience. The author has also used the net to find and
verify facts so the information contained herein is generally
accurate.
