You can say "NO"
to alcohol and drugs
What Does It Mean to Be an Alcoholic? or Drug Addict?
When someone says, "I am an alcoholic and/or a drug addict" they are saying that once they have used alcohol (or any drug), they have lost the ability to say "NO" consciously the next time. They are being controlled by a much stronger subconscious mind.
Alcoholism or drug addiction is the inability to consciously control further alcohol or drug intake once the alcohol or drug has been ingested. Once any alcohol or drug has been ingested the addict loses the ability to choose and say "NO." His subconscious mind is in control and it will not let him say "NO."
YOU TOO CAN SAY
"NO"
TO ALCOHOL AND DRUGS

About the author- MARGARET WHITAKER
I have been involved with alcoholism for just on 50 years and drug addiction for 34 years. Because I needed to find a way to help close family members and at the same time to learn and try to understand about addictions, I have talked to anyone and everyone who would give their time.

TITLE: You can say "NO" to Alcohol & Drugs
REVIEWER: Dr.Waldo Malan
Margaret Whitaker has been involved with alcoholism just on 50 years and with drug addiction for 34 years. This experience has equipped her in compiling this well-researched and comprehensive manual on these issues.
The book (I nearly feel to call it a manual) is aimed at addicts, family members of addicts as well as those who are merely interested academically or contemplating experimentation. As Margaret concisely states: it's easy to get involved but hell to stop! The warnings are clear and certainly given from an objective point of view, if you need facts at your fingertips on the destructiveness of addiction, particularly in its physiological and neurological effects, this is the book to have close by. The book is concisely written (only 100 pages) and is an easy gift to anyone finding themselves in any addictive situation.
I have talked to Doctors, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and many, many alcoholics and drug addicts. I started studying Emotional Intelligence in 2001. In 2002 I went the U.K. to work as a carer and when I arrived there I found it easy to study.
Because I had been studying Emotional Intelligence, I took a course in Hypnosis, Hypnotherapy, and Clinical Hypnosis, which give me an amazing insight into how the subconscious mind works. I also did a course of an exciting new therapy called Thought Field Therapy which takes away emotional problems in a matter of minutes. I then did other courses to do with Dyslexia and learning and how the brain works, I was then able to put all of this information together with what I had already learned and experienced about addictions and came up with the knowledge needed to write this book. It is the result of 50 years of a need to find an answer.
This is my answer.

TESTIMONIALS
Janine's Story
I started drinking from the age of 14. I would lie to my mom and tell her I'm going to sleepovers but instead friends and myself would get together and drink or go clubbing.
Since a small girl I was shy and when I consumed alcohol I was the bubbliest most talkative person in the world, that is why I started drinking every weekend because it made me feel confident, loved, wanted, accepted.
When I was 15 I was molested by my day mother's son, which I never told anyone about at the time. After that incident I started drinking excessively and then tried my first drug (ecstasy) with a group of friends. I "loved" this drug, it made by feel happy and helped me forget about all about my problems at the time.
At the age of 17 my parents got divorced because of my dad's drinking problem after which my mom, brother and I moved to another city for a new start. A month after my father passed away and this was a huge shock to me, I then hit rock bottom. At the time I was dating a guy who was abusive and with him I fell pregnant but had an abortion.
I hadn't dealt with any of these issues and to cope I started going to more and more parties and started using more drugs and alcohol including cocaine. I eventually started stealing money from my work to support my dirty habit. I would also take drugs and drink during the week and sometimes skip work to drug. I was too sick to go to work.
I eventually got caught for stealing and then admitted I had a problem. I received Margaret's Manual as a gift, and I truly thank her for saving my life. This book (manual) was easy to read, concise and contained practical steps to recovery. I won't lie- it's no easy, but if you want to get better this is the solution!!!
I am now under house arrest, and have been clean for 28 months..

I urge anyone who is tired of addiction, be it drugs or alcohol to seriously buy this book and start applying it in their lives Now. You will not recover my merely reading this book, a lot of hard work is required from your side.
I have been clean for 37 months and going strong..

"Having gone to rehab twice I seemed to be getting worse.. You saved me years of misery and a lot of money. It really hit me when you said that no one can do anything for me in this process and it makes no sense to pay someone as though they could. I am still working it out but I feel happier and empowered to do what I feel is right for me.
Thanks.
