WHO IS GLENN DOMAN?
Glenn Doman received his degree in physical therapy from the
University of Pennsylvania in 1940. From that point on, he began
pioneering the field of child brain development. In 1955, he founded
The Institutes For The Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia.
By the early sixties, the world-renowned work of The Institutes with
brain-injured children had led to vital discoveries about the growth
and development of well children. Glenn Doman has lived with, studied
and worked with children in more than 100 nations, ranging from the
most civilized to the most primitive. The Brazlian government knighted
him for his outstanding work on behalf of the children of the world.
WHY IS EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION IMPORTANT?
All babies have an insatiable appetite to learn. Between birth and
six years of age, the ability to absorb information is unparalleled,
and the desire to do so is stronger than it will ever be again.
HERE IS THE PROOF
Before a child is 6, he has learned most of the basic facts about
himself and his family. He has learned about his social environment,
his relationship to his siblings and his parents, his neighbors and a
many other facts that are literally uncountable. Most significantly,
he has learned at least one whole language and sometimes more than
one. (The chances are remote that he will ever truly master an
additional language AFTER he is six). All this has taken place even
before he has stepped into a classroom. The process of learning
through these formative early years takes place at an astonishing
speed unless we stop it. If we understand it and encourage it, the
process will take place at an unbelievable rate. A small child has,
burning within him, a deep desire to learn.
Throughout history there have been isolated but numerous cases of
people who have actually taught little children to learn the most
extraordinary things including math, foreign languages, reading and
encyclopedic knowledge by appreciating and encouraging them. In all
the cases, the results of such preplanned home opportunity for
children to learn ranged from "excellent" to "astonishing" in
producing happy, well-adjusted children with exceptionally high
intelligence. It is significant that these children had not been been
found to have high intelligence first and then been given unusual
opportunities to learn, but instead were simply children whose parents
decided to expose them to as much information as possible at a very
early age.

What Is The Glenn Doman Methodology?
The Glenn Doman teaching method uses 11"x11" flash cards that you
use to show to your child in short intervals and in quick succession
while saying it in a clear loud voice. You can teach your child math
and equations using dot cards. You can teach your child how to read
using words or phrases on your cards. If you have pictures and words
together, you can also train your child to have encyclopedic
knowledge.

HOW THE GENIUSMAKERTM WAS CREATED
About 8 years ago, after the birth of my son, I wanted to give him a
head start in life and started researching. Friends told me about the
work of Glenn Doman and I purchased his books "How To Teach Your Baby
Math" and "How To Teach Your Baby To Read". Convinced and very
inspired, I went out to buy some materials, cardboard, red dot
stickers and started work on the dot cards and reading cards.
After spending $50, teary eyes from recounting the dots and a stiff
shoulder later, I realized I had a couple of problems. For starters, I
couldn't't flip the cards as quickly or smoothly as I had hoped. Also
I couldn't perform certain equations like 2+2=4 or 3+3=6 as I had only
one "two-dot" card or one "three-dot" card. I could not do 4+4=8 or
6+2=8 or 7+1=8. Well, you get the idea. And the cards were getting
dirty quite easily as they were white. But I was really tired of
making fresh cards and quickly lost my enthusiasm.
So one day, my friend who is a software engineer and I were having
tea together and we were discussing how we could design a program to
solve these problems. And that's how the GeniusMaker(tm) was born.
