Thank you SO MUCH for all you do!  I have lost about 20lbs, a pant size and gone from a womens to a regular!! I am a pretty small person, in fact I am quite small. I have not wrestled with my weight much. But my weight really has always been within 5 pounds of where I started with Ben's program. Being the ‘fat kid’, I got called a lot of names

I grew up believing those words which killed my self esteem.  I comforted myself by eating and secluding myself.  Junior high is when it really got bad.  I still got called all the names in the book, and I began to put on serious weight due to my low self-esteem and my parents divorce.  My clothes got tighter and tighter and I would find myself trying to ‘suck in’ my stomach all day at school only to come home with stomach and intestinal pain.

I was athletic though.  I enjoyed sports and felt like I could use that as an outlet for my frustration.  I realized quickly though that even though I was athletic, there were others that were better than me.  So I had to try harder and put more effort in than others.  My desire to challenge myself a little more each day started at an early age.

Charlotte is in the best shape of her life!

I went to Weight Watchers many, many times, but it was always a short-term fix. I was going to lose weight. I learned how to cheat the system, to have a good weight on Thursday, but then I realize I could use points to eat whatever I wanted. I didn’t learn anything and I wasn’t exercising. So that didn’t really help me. But since I started this program, I’ve lost a total of 34 pounds. I went from size 14 to size 6. I feel I can do things that I have not been able to do for a long time: hike and run with my family. Even though my kids are grown, we like to get together for hikes and things like that. Now I can do it. The past two weekends I finally wore a bathing suit to the beach, which I haven’t done in a long time.

I can’t say enough good things about it. It has helped me work on my nutrition. I am a teacher, so I didn’t even have a stressful year. I kept asking: Why am I having such a good school year? I think it was because I felt so good and I was doing so many things that were helping me that I just wasn’t stressed. Playing sports in high school continued to provide an outlet for my frustration but my confidence remained low.  I never reached my full potential in high school because my mind held me back.  And it was my mind that sabotaged me with food for comfort.

In college, things didn’t get any better.  I started taking ephedra off and on for 6 years.  At its worse, I would take it during the week and get off it on the weekends.  I knew something was wrong when I had migranes that prevented me from getting out of bed every weekend.  But I thought it was the answer, so I continued.



When I started having heart palpitations, I realized I had to stop.

I was scared to death, the day I started feeling faint and my heart wouldn’t stop racing.  It was enough to finally convince me to stop taking ephedra or other quick fixes and begin to search for a better alternative.

That’s when I finally decided to take a closer look at my training and nutrition.  I had gained knowledge of how the body worked and moved from receiving my degree in sports medicine.  But what I learned extended far beyond the classes I took or the books I read. What I discovered came from real life scenarios.

I soon discovered a training method called Interval Training.    I tried it, and I was hooked.  I also saw great results from interval training that it became a staple in my program which I was ecstatic for because I hated long cardio training and often skipped it.

I began to hypothesize in my head: what if there was a way to utilize interval type training in our weight training routines?  I didn’t see why it couldn’t happen, so I tried it out in my back yard.  I set up a circuit and would time myself at each station, resting for short periods upon conclusion of the entire circuit.



You know what happened?  I started shedding body fat.

Kristi has success despite having only half a thyroid

Six months after having my son, I had ½ my thyroid taken out throwing my body completely out of whack.  I have tried just about every diet there is and nothing ever stayed with me.  The longest was a year on weight watchers, but after I stopped, I gained it all back.  Then a miracle happened.  I read an article in the local newspaper that Ben had written.  I joined Ben’s program in November of 2007 and have been enjoying it ever since.

My name is Carolyn and I am 56 years old and I am a junior high school teacher. I am the kind of person that could put on weight just looking at a cupcake. Here are five facts about fat loss you must know:
