Many are perpetuated by the diet and supplement companies, some are just purely due to misinformation and a lack of understanding. Problem is, these myths can hold you back, and keep you from making the progress you should. Let’s expose the 10 biggest myths and reveal the facts you MUST KNOW to lose fat and get a six pack.

Myth #1
Fat Loss Success Is Found In the Latest Miracle Pill.

Truth .... You don't need Dozens of Supplements to lose fat.
(Although a select few can help)

While there are a few supplements that do actually help you get leaner and see that elusive six pack, they’re few and far between.

Some can help, but the truth is that almost all the ads for miraculous weight loss pills are based on hype, misdirection and in many cases outright lies. They have one purpose, to separate you from your money. I'll explain exactly which supplements do work and why, and which are total junk (most of them sadly)


Myth #2
Long Aerobic workouts are needed to lose fat.

Truth .... Doing countless hours of boring aerobics and keeping your heart rate in the so called "fat loss zone" is outdated advice! There are much more efficient ways to “burn” fat.

With the highly targeted workouts I recommend – you can increase the amount of fat you burn three fold. Yup, that's correct, you could be burning 3 x as much fat in less time than a standard dull boring cardio workout. I don't know about you, but I have better things to do with my time than sitting on an exercise bike for hours every week. I'll explain how and why soon.

People fail to lose fat because they just picked the wrong plan.

Truth .... Lack Of Motivation Is the No #1 Reason For Failing To Reach Fat Loss Goals

Over the past two decades I've personally observed a wide range of clients, in particular, noting the difference between those who failed to achieve their goals and those who succeeded.

You might think it was just the diet or exercise program you chose that stopped you from achieving a lean body and flat stomach. Some times that’s the case, but more often than not, it's actually a lack motivation.

It’s as simple as that: diet, training and so forth are an essential component to ever seeing that 6 pack, but even if you have all these correct, without the motivation to succeed, it's unlikely you will ever achieve the body you want, but you knew that already didn’t you?!

Myth #4 - You must do endless ab crunches and sit up’s to get 6 pack abs

Truth .... A Flat Stomach -Or Seeing Your Six Pack - is Not About Doing Sit Up's & Crunches All Day.

A lean body and sexy six pack is actually more about diet and what you eat. Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym as such.

You can do hours of crunches or sit ups but without losing the fat covering those muscles, you won't be able to see that six pack.

Doing the right kind of exercises combined with the right fat loss diet is how you'll achieve the look you’re after. Ironically, the exercises that do help you get a six pack have little to do with ab exercises, they tend to burn almost no fat. I'll explain later on how to do the right kind of exercises to achieve fat loss.

Myth #5-You must starve yourself eating very low calories to lose fat

Truth .... Lowering Calories Too Fast or Too Dramatically Causes a Weight Loss Plateau.

This is one of the major flaws in most “quick fix” diet programs. You may lose some weight in the first few weeks – much of which comes from simple water loss-but then you quickly hit a plateau and stop losing weight.

Lowering calories slows down your metabolism and your body hangs on to whatever fat it can as it kicks into “famine mode.” This is why you can cut calories and cut calories again, yet find losing weight becomes ever more difficult.

Your body is smart, it says "if you're not going to feed me I'm going to hold on to all the body fat I can for energy stores". It gets worse, not only does fat loss come to a halt, you lose the very tissue that supports your metabolism (muscle!) which is the last thing you want to do as muscle tissue burns fat.

I'll show you how to manipulate calories and avoid plateaus while retaining the all important muscle tissue you need to have an efficient fat burning metabolism!


Myth #6 - Gadgets like ab roller, rockers and other machines burn fat and are superior to crunches and other ab exercises

Truth .... Infomercial Products, Ab Rollers, Ab Rockers, Electrical Stimuli Products etc are JUNK!

All of them are a colossal waste of money and time and serve no purpose other than to clutter up your garage or that area under your bed.

I've coached hundreds of people to a flat stomach and not one of them has ever used infomercial style junk to transform their bodies.

I've been destroying the myths and hype surrounding these products for a decade. Lies, celebrity endorsements and fitness models who were always in shape before advertising these things do it for one reason only, money.

The bodies of the sexy looking fitness model advertising the latest gadget were created with the long term use of a good diet, resistance training and the correct type of cardio. They sure as hell didn't get a great six pack from rocking back and forth for hours on some plastic roller.


Fact #7 - You must get on the scale daily to see how much weight you have lost

Truth .... Weight Loss Is a Worthless Measure of Success!

You read that correctly. It's not about weight loss; what matters is FAT loss. People are addicted to stepping on the scales every morning, but the truth is folks who are truly successful at getting into great shape don't use the scales as a measure, they measure body fat, not weight, and they use the mirror as their day to day scale.

What is important to remember is you don't want to lose "weight" as such. Weight can be water loss, bone tissue loss, muscle loss, none of which you want to lose. Any program which focuses exclusively on weight loss can actually hinder your eventual goal of getting lean and looking great in the mirror.

I'll explain how to concentrate purely on fat loss so that healthy, lean, sexy you is revealed. Concentrate purely on weight loss and you'll just end up with that "skinny – fat” look: no tone, no leanness, no healthy look, just slightly smaller but still fat.


Fact #8 - You must avoid all fat in your diet if you wish to lose fat.

Truth ....Eating Fat Does Not Automatically Make You Fat.

Of course stuffing yourself with butter isn't a great fat loss diet, but here's what many folks still don't understand; some fats actually increase fat loss, improve health, and suppress appetite.

Low fat diets are not the most effective for long term fat loss. In fact, supplements which provide healthy fats are one of the very few supplements worth taking. I'll explain much more about this later, including which ones, why, and how much.

Fact # 9 - You must eliminate all carbs from your diet to effectively lose fat

Truth .... Ultra Low Carb diets Are Misleading…

Can very low carb diets help you lose weight? Sure, but much of it is water (at least in the beginning) and they are difficult to follow short term, and almost impossible to follow long term!

Once you stop eating that no fat/ultra low fat diet, you are right back where you started. Besides, there are more effective - not to mention healthier - ways to lose the fat and I will show you how…

Fact # 10 - Losing muscle mass / tone is a normal part of dieting and only weight matters

Truth .... You Should NOT Be Losing Muscle When You Are Dieting!

If you’re losing muscle mass when you're trying to lose fat, something is wrong, it's not compulsory, and in fact, every pound of muscle you lose makes it that much harder to lose additional fat as muscle burns fat for fuel. Lose muscle and you lose that sexy lean toned look you’re working towards. Make no mistake here: losing muscle along with fat is VERY common on most diets.

Muscle is a metabolically active tissue, it burns calories, you should never, ever follow a program which has you losing muscle mass, even for women who might not think it's as important; it is.
