Online Privacy System - Remove Your Name

[1]

WITH AS LITTLE AS YOUR NAME, A FLAT _BROKE_, _DIM WITTED PREDATOR_
COULD EASILY FIND OUT YOUR HOME ADDRESS, KIDS' NAMES, FIND OUT THE
SCHEDULES FOR THE ACTIVITIES THEY'RE INVOLVED IN, AND KNOW WHEN YOU'RE
NOT GOING TO BE HOME TO PROTECT THEM IN A MATTER OF MINUTES USING
ONLINE DIRECTORIES SUCH AS ZABASEARCH, WHITEPAGES AND OTHERS.

"REGAINING PRIVACY ONLINE WAS THE MISSING LINK IN MY PERSONAL
SECURITY PLAN. IT SHOWED ME HOW TO LIMIT MY EXPOSURE TO THIS NEW
THREAT IN 62 MINUTES."

IN THE NEXT 5 MINUTES, PREDATORS CAN GET YOUR NAME, DATE OF BIRTH,
HOME ADDRESS, SATELLITE IMAGES OF YOUR HOUSE, EMPLOYER, JOB TITLE,
PAST ADDRESSES, SPOUSE'S NAME, CHILDRENS' NAMES, AND RELATIVES'
NAMES...ALL FOR FREE.

From there, it's pretty simple to search the social networking sites
and dig up all the juicy information someone wants about your
family...Sports, schools, extracurricular activities, schedules,
pictures. The list goes on.

In the next 5 minutes, I can show you how to stop predators cold.

Dear Friend,

You shred your mail, check your credit occasionally, and don't put
personal information on social networking sites. Even with these
precautions, predators, thieves, and even crazy ex's can still find
out all they need, for free, in minutes to cause you and your family
pain and suffering. If you haven't proactively removed your personal
information from online directories, then...

...YOU'RE AS VULNERABLE AS A TURTLE LYING ON IT'S BACK WITH IT'S
SOFT UNDERBELLY EXPOSED.

It's easy for predators to know your name. Don't believe me? Ever
have your name called at a doctor's office, mechanics, or a
restaurant? Ever hand out business cards? Ever pay a bill with a
credit cardor worse, left a bad tip in exchange for bad service? Maybe
you're an active citizen and you've written a letter or two to the
editor that was controversialor just been interviewed or had your (or
your kid's) picture in the paper.

Ever stood up to someone at a city hall meeting, PTA meeting, or
backed a political candidate with unpopular views? Maybe some parent
at last night's game doesn't like the way your kid defended them.

Don't get paranoid on me. It's relatively harmless for bad people to
just know your name, but unless you've removed your information from
all 49 free online personal information directories, you're
vulnerable, and with Regaining Privacy Online, it's one of the easiest
security gaps to fix. The internet has made it just too darn easy for
predators to find out tactical or strategic information online for
free about you that they can use against you or your family. Any
waiter, stop font-family: Tahoma">Learn how to remove your personal
information from online directories such as Zabasearch, Whitepages
and others...fast!

Phonebooks, maps, pictures, and public records have been around for
years. What's changed with the internet is that they're all connected
and a shockingly large amount of personal information is now
interconnected and readily available for free.

"ONE OF THE MOST PRACTICAL OF OUR PRESENT SAFEGUARDS OF PRIVACY IS
THE FRAGMENTED NATURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION. IT IS SCATTERED IN
LITTLE BITS ACROSS THE GEOGRAPHY AND YEARS OF OUR LIFE. RETRIEVAL IS
IMPRACTICAL AND OFTEN IMPOSSIBLE. A CENTRAL DATA BANK REMOVES
COMPLETELY THIS SAFEGUARD." -Congressman Frank Horton, 1966 committee
hearings to create a national data center.

The internet destroyed this safeguard, and we've got to protect
ourselves now. Until recently, if a predator wanted to get all of this
information, he would have to actually pull out a phonebook, pull out
a map (if they had one), go through newspapers at the local library,
and go down to the courthouse and wade through documents or
microfiche. It took time and dedication and most people who mean to do
financial, physical, or psychological harm are inherently lazy.

Now all they need to do is go to a handful of free websites.

You can fight back.

Once you see the quantity of personal information that's easily
available for free about you, you will want to take back control of
your information, your security, and your family's security by
removing your information from these online directories. My book
includes the definitive step by step guide will show you the quickest
and easiest way to regain your privacy.

HERE'S HOW AN INNOCENT BLOG COMMENT QUICKLY AND EASILY LED TO AN
UNLISTED PHONE NUMBER, HOME ADDRESS, AND PICTURES OF MY TEENAGE
NIECE...

I have Google alerts set up for everyone in my family. Recently, I
was notified about a controversial blog entry that my teenage niece
had written...using her name. Because of the nature of his profession,
my brother has some unique security concerns and it's beneficial for
him to stay slightly off the radar. Out of curiosity, I started trying
to see what I could find out just based on that blog entry. In
addition to their address and all but their youngest child's names,
within a couple of minutes, I had overhead AND profile pictures of
their house, their unlisted phone number, pictures of their kids and
cars, ages, past residences, professions, and relatives' names and
addresses (mine)for free.

When I followed the trail, the information I was able to find about
myself in the next few minutes scared the crap out of me people could
easily see where I work, what companies I own, that I have a wife and
son, and where they are during the day while I'm at work or out of
town on business.

WHAT'S THE SOLUTION?

My guess is that you're like meI don't have any real enemies, but I
don't like the idea of making myself an easy mark for predators. So, I
started doing research on how to remove my private information from
the internet.

FREE ADVICEI GOT WHAT I PAID FOR.

I found a lot. A lot of useless crap, that is. Several great
authors have written articles on this problem over the last few years
and have given instructions on how to remove your information from
these directories. Within weeks or even days of the articles coming
out, the directories respond by changing the rules. The articles
remain to, but their advice is only good for a few days.

I TRIED PAYING PEOPLE$120 GOT ME REMOVED FROM 7 OUT OF 49
DIRECTORIES.

I even found some services that claimed to be able to remove my
information from online databases. I paid them all. One service I
tried cost $60 and found 376 personal records about me, but was only
able to remove 2 (two!) of them from a single directory. Those 376
records didn't even account for all 49 directories. At $30 per record,
it looked like it was going to be very expensive to regain my privacy.

A second service also charged about $60/year and was able to remove
my information from 6 of the 49 online directories. (completely
different directories than the first company) The problem is that my
information only has to remain on one online directory for me to be
vulnerable to predators.

There had to be a better (and cheaper) way, so I decided to start
contacting each of the directories individually to remove my
information.

I FINALLY HAD TO DO IT MYSELF.

It turns out that these companies publishing our private
information don't really want to help us. They make money by selling
advertising and they know that they'll only get repeat customers by
having the largest possible database...basically; they're using our
private information as bait. So, they regularly change the procedures
you have to go through to remove your information to protect their
bottom line. Once they see that an author has included removal
instructions in an article, they kill the page and come up with a
brand new way to opt out of their directory.

I was committed at this point, and was going to solve this problem,
regardless of how long it took me. When it came down to it, I just
wasn't comfortable with other people making money GIVING AWAY MY
private information. Especially when that information could expose my
family to unnecessary risks. It took over 20 hours over several
evenings away from my wife and son to solve the problem, but I finally
did. (Regaining Privacy Online will show you how to do it in 62
minutes.) HERE'S EXACTLY WHAT I DID, AND WHAT YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO
DO BEFORE REGAINING PRIVACY ONLINE:

1. Scour the internet to find and read every article available on
removing my personal information from online directories. Even the
most recent articles were outdated, but they gave me a starting list
of online directories.

2. I hired every service and "expert" I could find to do the work
for me.they barely made a dent, but they unearthed even more
directories.

3. Since people use different search engines, I did too...and I
researched dozens of search engines, newsgroups, blogs, and major
directories to find ALL of the private information directories I
could.

4. Find all the sites with my information, navigate through their
mazes to find removal instructions (if they existed).

5. I removed my information immediately from the sites that let me
do it online.

6. In the fine print, one company makes you confirm your removal
by calling from your home phone number. If you miss this, your
information stays in their directory.

7. Individually email the companies that didn't have online removal
instructions & wait for their replies.

8. Track down and call the companies that ignored my requests,
navigate their phone systems, and force the information out of their
representatives.

9. x companies want to make it very difficult and will only take
written requests to remove information, so I had to draft several
letters to the companies in the formats they required. Sending them
was easyfiguring out what to write was a pain. (I wouldn't wish this
pain on anyone. You'll get my easy to use templates.)

10. Many of the directories just republish information from bigger
directories and update their directories every couple of months. I was
able to figure out the hierarchy of the directories to keep my
information offline as long as possible with as little effort as
possible. I'll show you how to keep your information off of the main
directories so that it will stay off of the second tier directories.

At this point, you know the risks and you know your alternatives.
You've got two options.
