(1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) They maintain low cholesterol levels throughout life… (1,3) despite a large proportion of these populations subsisting primarily on animal foods. (11,12) They maintain low weight and body fat % which does not increase with age. (6, 3, 1,10, 13) They have undetectable levels of heart disease (7, 6, 8,  14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 9, 10, 23 24, 13) They’re completely absent of cancer (6, 8, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30) Their bones are rock-solid with and low fracture rates (6) They have well-formed teeth and jaws with very few or no caries (45) They have excellent insulin sensitivity throughout their lives, even in old age. (3, 9, 10, 13, 31, 32 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40) There is little or no sign of Diabetes whatsoever   (6, 8, 31, 38, 25, 13)
When these populations are introduced to western foods, they quickly show signs of these diseases including Diabetes (25, 13, 41, 42). Furthermore, when they return to their ways, they see a degree of reversal in these diseases (43,44).

What can we conclude from this?

The answer is simple…

Of Our Ancestors

The solution to Diabetes management is to return to our old ways of living. A time when places like McDonalds and Wendy’s didn’t rule the world. A time when kids went outside to play instead of sitting inside to watch TV. A diet needs to be designed that eliminates everything in the modern lifestyle that leads to Diabetes.

Here are 6 fascinating studies looking into insulin resistance and Diabetes on an Insulin Normalizing Diet designed to eliminate the root causes of insulin resistance and Diabetes:

Clinical Trial #1

Lindeberg (51) put 29 people with ischemic heart disease and either type II diabetes or glucose intolerance on an Insulin Normalizing Diet or a Mediterranean diet for 12 weeks.

After 12 weeks there was a 26% drop AUC glucose in the Insulin Normalizing Diet relative to only 7% on the Mediterranean diet, a 370% improvement. Decreases in fasting glucose and increase in insulin sensitivity were also seen in the Insulin Normalizing Diet.

Of the 14 patients in the Insulin Normalizing Diet group, 12 had elevated fasting glucose at the beginning of the study (10 had full blown diabetes!). At the end of the study, every single one has normal fasting glucose. Meaning that these people went into the trial with type II diabetes or glucose intolerance and came out completely healthy! What’s more, the Insulin Normalizing Diet group’s glucose tolerance was 36% less at 2 hours than when they started the trial.

What makes this even more remarkable is that the Mediterranean diet is already an exceptional diet for controlling diabetes and the Insulin Normalizing Diet beat it in all metrics.


Clinical Trial #2

O’Dea (50) told 10 full blooded aboriginals with type II diabetes to adopt an Insulin Normalizing Diet for 7 weeks. All indicators of glucose tolerance improved dramatically – fasting blood glucose nearly halved, as did 2-hr readings and fasting insulin. Essentially, these 10 people either partially or completely reversed their diabetes in just 7 weeks!

From the authors:

“In conclusion, the major metabolic abnormalities of type II diabetes were either greatly improved of completely normalized in this group of Aborigines”


Clinical Trial #3

Osterdahl (47) put healthy subjects on an Insulin Normalizing Diet for 3 weeks. The results? Insulin resistance and insulin dropped significantly by the end of the trial.


Clinical Trial #4

Jönsson (48) put 13 type II diabetics on a Insulin Normalizing Diet for 3 months then a Diabetic diet for another 3 months. The Diabetes diet is literally designed by the American Diabetes Association to be the best way to control insulin and glucose metabolism so any improvement above that would be impressive. The Insulin Normalizing Diet  BEAT the “Diabetes diet” in ALL metrics.

The authors conclude: “Over a 3-month study period, [the Insulin Normalizing Diet] diet improved glycemic control and several cardiovascular risk factors compared to a Diabetes diet in patients with type 2 Diabetes.”


Clinical Trial #5

Frassetto (49) put healthy volunteers on an Insulin Normalizing Diet for only 10 days. After such a short time, the results were impressive: fasting insulin dropped 68% and insulin resistance by 72%.

The authors conclude: “Even short-term consumption of an [Insulin Normalizing Diet]  improves BP and glucose tolerance, decreases insulin secretion, increases insulin sensitivity and improves lipid profiles without weight loss in healthy sedentary humans.”


Clinical Trial #6

Jönsson et al (46) tested an Insulin Normalizing Diet vs a modern diet on pigs. They found that insulin sensitivity and insulin response was significantly lower in the Insulin Normalizing Diet than the modern diet.
