never forget the impact of those words as I left his room with my legs

this was an enormous shock. How on earth do you care for two babies at
a time?
One was hard enough.
A wonderful shock of course, but none the less, the daunting thoughts
that ran through my head in that split instant.
Oh my god, how big am I going to get? What will happen to my body?
How will I ever go back to normal? Will I get stretch marks?
Where do you get information on raising two babies at a time? How do
you breast feed two babies? Are you feeding all day? Can you feed them
together? How do you hold them both? How will I ever go out if I have
to feed them?
_I DON'T KNOW A THING ABOUT RAISING TWINS?_
WHERE DO WE START?
So what's the first thing you would do? Go to the internet right?
And that is exactly what we did when we decided to write this book.
We wanted to be sure that mothers of twins did not experience what we
experienced.
Here's where the story get's interesting
I don't know about youbut you don't have the time to look for answers
on the internet and all the advice seems to differ.
Don't get me wrongwhen we were researching for this book, there was a
lot of information on twins, but it was spread out all over the place
across so many different websites--PLUS--it seemed most of the
information was either scientific research about twins or dealt with
all the trimesters of the pregnancy and not very helpful in what to do
once they are born!
Nothing wrong with that, the information is interesting - BUT at the
time All you need is a simple "one stop guide" all in one resource.

Anywaylet me save you the trouble (and many brain-draining hours in

So I contacted the multiple births association and at that time all
they were able to give me was a one page photocopied sheet on
breastfeeding and twins at school.
I tried to get help from a friend who had twins at the same time as
me, however her babies were perfectthey slept from 6pm to 9 am and had
no nappy rash and no problems!
At that stage mine were waking every 3 hours, had nappy rash and my 2
year old wanted to go to the park at 9 am!
Although I don't remember, a friend would phone me daily to check in
on my mental health and she reminds me of a day when I called up my
husband at work and said."I hate my life" and then hung up on him!
I was not coping. I needed help! I needed some good solid home grown
advice from mothers who had been there and done that. Reassurance that
there was a way around some of my problems.a light at the end of the
tunnela reassuring word and some helpful tips.
