LEARN HOW TRADITIONAL WHOLE FOODS CAN HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT AND STAY
HEALTHY,_ WITHOUT_ LOW-CALORIE STARVATION DIETS OR WEIGHT LOSS PILLS.
HIPPOCRATES SAID "LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE AND MEDICINE BE THY
FOOD."
Low-calorie diets do cause you to lose weight temporarily,
(starvation does that to people), but the weight loss is _never_
permanent because the underlying cause of obesity is still there when
the diet is over. That's why you gain weight even _faster_ after a
low-calorie diet, and end up even heavier than you were before.
Only _real food_, the traditional foods eaten by humans for
thousands of years, can be used as true medicine to overcome the basic
underlying cause of obesity, heart disease, and diabetes, and help us
get rid of excess weight _permanently_.
Creator of the_ new Real Food Diet Revolution_ Study Course
DEAR READER,
I'm sure glad I'm not famous, because if I was a celebrity author,
you would have seen the tabloid headlines screaming -
_"WEIGHT LOSS AUTHOR GETTING FAT AGAIN!"_
I've been writing about weight loss and health issues online for
almost ten years, and I'm the author of two books on the subject. But
I have to admit that in the last three or four years I have slowly
been gaining weight again, and nothing I tried seemed to help.
It has something to do with my age, because the older I got, the
more difficult it became to keep my weight in check.
And it isn't because I don't know much about weight loss issues.
After all, I've read hundreds of books about diet and nutrition.
Reading is my passion, and research is part of my job as an author. I
now own so many books on these subjects that I could open my own used
bookstore.
Of course, I didn't just _read_ the books and articles.
I also carefully followed all the advice from today's most
highly-qualified experts who tell us the secrets for losing weight.
I knew that the first secret to losing weight is to eat fewer
calories than you burn, so each year my meals got smaller and smaller.
But lately, it didn't help.
I knew that the second secret to losing weight was to get lots of
exercise, which I do naturally anyway. My two large dogs make sure I
go for long walks twice a day, and my big organic garden keeps me busy
with the shovel and hoe. I dig the entire garden by hand - no
roto-tiller for me - and I mow the lawn with an old-fashioned reel
mower. I get plenty of exercise.
But that didn't help, either.
And since my special interest has always been the subject of sugar
addiction, I avoided the stuff religiously. I even wrote a book about
how to conquer sugar cravings. When I was younger, this is all I
needed to do to lose any extra pounds I was carrying.
But As The Years Went By, My Own Cravings Kept Getting Worse, And I
Had To Fight Harder And Harder To Make Myself Walk On Past The Ice
Cream Freezer At The Local Store.
I read about the dangers of saturated fats, and stopped eating red
meat. I would occasionally cook myself a chicken breast, (without the
skin of course). But, frankly, it wasn't very satisfying so I didn't
do it very often.
I read that milk can be bad for you, so I stopped drinking it. It
wasn't all that hard to give up milk, since I don't care for the
watered-down taste of the anemic low-fat stuff we've all been buying
for the last 30 years, anyway. My family kept a cow when I was growing
up, so I know what real milk tastes like, and it certainly doesn't
taste like 1% milk.
I knew that veggies are good for you because they have lots of
vitamins and antioxidants, so I ate lots of veggies. _Tons_ of
veggies.
Each year my diet became more restrictive (there always seems to be
one more thing we're supposed to avoid). But I kept gaining weight.
The 35 pounds I easily lost 10 years ago, just by dropping the sugar
and white flour from my diet, slowly came back - and this time there
didn't seem to be anything I could do about it.
Yet, According To All Those Books On My Shelves, I Was Doing
Everything Right.
THE ADVICE I FOLLOWED DIDN\'T WORK, SO I STARTED LOOKING FOR NEW
ANSWERS.
I had to face facts. The more diligent I was about following all the
current advice on weight loss and nutrition, the more weight I gained,
and my sugar cravings were getting worse.
I Started To Consider The Unthinkable - What If All The Expert\'s
Advice Was Wrong?
What if all the books lining the shelves in my living room on the
subject of weight loss were filled, page after page, with incorrect
assumptions and unprovable facts?
What if following all that advice was exactly the wrong thing to do?
And What If I Was Simply Reading All The Wrong Books? Maybe The
Answer To The Obesity Epidemic Was Out There, Waiting For Me To Find
It, But I Had Just Been Looking In All The Wrong Places.
THE FACTS THAT STARTED ME THINKING IN A NEW DIRECTION...
I'm not the first sugar addict in my family. My grandfather used to
put sugar on top of his chocolate cake, something I've never seen
anyone else do. He was thin all his life, but he was diagnosed with
diabetes in his 70s.
My father started to have a weight problem in his late 30s, even
though his job kept him working at hard labor in the hot desert sun
for 8 hours a day (so much for the theory about exercise and weight
loss...).
About the same time that my dad was trying out all sorts of diets, I
was in high school, and I was getting fat, too. That's when I started
a lifelong struggle with my weight.
Each generation in my family was having a weight problem or being
diagnosed with diabetes earlier and earlier in life. My family must be
typical because over 66% of Americans are now overweight or obese.
Most obesity experts say the rate is continuing to accelerate every
year.
Then I read an article by a well-respected statistics expert who
said that:
Our Newest Crop Of Children, Including My Own 10-month Old Grandson,
Have A Much Greater Chance Of Dying In Their 20s, 30s And 40s Because
Of The Exploding Epidemic Of Childhood Obesity And Diabetes.
These Early Deaths Will Cause The Overall Life Expectancy Of Our
Newest Generation To Be Lower Than Their Parents By An Average Of Two
To Five Years.
They Said Their Estimate Was _conservative_, Because It Assumed The
Rate Of Childhood Obesity Would Remain At The Year 2000 Levels, But
The Rate Has Actually Continued To Rise.
A LOWERED LIFE EXPECTANCY OF THIS MAGNITUDE HASN\'T HAPPENED IN THE
UNITED STATES SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION.
Diabetes has become such a major problem among children that whole
countries are worried that the extra cost of caring for them as they
get older will bankrupt their national health care systems.
Heart disease, another obesity related illness, still kills more
people in the United States than any other cause.
And other obesity related illnesses like sleep apnea, gout,
gastrointestinal problems and even some kinds of arthritis, are on the
rise.
But the obesity experts keep telling us that we just need to stop
eating so much. Eat a balanced diet, they say, but cut the calories.
We try it. We spend hundreds of dollars on weight-loss clubs and
special meal plans delivered to our door. We buy the latest appetite
suppressant drug. We spend part of our family's food budget on special
products that have most of the fat and most of the calories removed.
We lose weight on these low-calorie diets, and then we gain it all
back again. Our doctors blame us for not having the will-power to stay
on a starvation diet for the rest of our lives, even though
well-respected research done back in 1917 proved that low-calorie
diets _always_ cause people to gain weigh when the diet is over.
That Same Study, And Others That Followed, Also Proved That
Low-calorie Diets Cause Depression. Did Your Doctor Mention That When
He Prescribed The Latest Low-calorie Diet? Scientists Have Known About
This Dangerous Low-calorie Side Effect For 91 Years!
Yet being obese is still considered a basic character flaw.
We're in the middle of one of the worst worldwide epidemics in
history, (obesity is just one manifestation of a metabolic disorder
that kills more people than any other cause), but the experts are
still saying it's an _individual_ problem, brought on by a simple lack
of will-power.
Even the Spanish Flu pandemic after World War I 'only' affected 20%
of the world's population, and the mortality rate was much lower than
that. Yet the recent threat of a bird flu epidemic threw governments
into a panic.
If we stopped imagining that two-thirds of our citizens are somehow
affected by a 'character flaw' that causes their own obesity and heart
disease and diabetes, would the government take this huge health
threat more seriously?
WHEN I STARTED SEARCHING FOR _DIFFERENT_ ANSWERS THAT MADE MORE
SENSE, I DISCOVERED SOMETHING THAT SEEMED SIGNIFICANT.
The Only Doctors And Scientists Who Could Truthfully Claim That Their
Weight Loss Advice Really Worked, _permanently_ And _without_ Hunger
Or Food Obsessions, Were The Ones Who Looked For Answers In The Past.
These are the people who noticed that when our great
great-grandparents were living, people almost never got fat. They
noticed that back then, diabetes was a rare disease, and heart disease
was almost unknown.
These Doctors And Nutrition Specialists All Came To The Same
Conclusion...
If obesity, diabetes and heart disease, the famous 'diseases of
civilization', all started when we began to eat industrially processed
foods about 150 years ago, and if the incidence of these diseases
continued to climb as more and more processed, industrialized foods
hit the market, then THESE ILLNESSES ARE CAUSED BY INDUSTRIALIZED,
PROCESSED FOOD.
And They Could Prove It.
Because in the years before World War II, there were still pockets
of isolated people in the world who didn't eat _any_ industrially
processed food.
Missionary doctors traveled to these areas to provide medical care,
and wrote about the astounding fact that most of the chronic illnesses
that were common back home in 'civilization' simply didn't exist among
people eating their traditional foods.
Some of our first nutritional anthropologists studied the diets of
these people, and noted that these 'primitive' diets gave the people
10 to 40% more vitamins than the food that Americans typically ate.
These \'primitive\' People, (who Ate The Foods That Our Own Great
Great-grandparents Ate) Were Not Fat, They Didn\'t Get Diabetes, They
Didn\'t Get Heart Disease, Their Teeth Didn\'t Decay, And They Almost
Never Got Cancer.
However, in villages near roads, where modern industrialized food
could be traded, these 'modern' illnesses started to show up. And even
back then, when a community was first changing to a 'western' diet,
the next generation born showed signs of nutritional deficiencies.
Children were born with narrower faces and crowded teeth. Doctors
treated patients for diabetes for the first time. People gained excess
weight for the first time, even if they ate fewer calories than their
parents did on a traditional diet.
Scientists and doctors brought this information back to their home
countries and published books and articles. They lectured on the
issue, and tried to convince their countrymen that something was very
wrong with industrialized food. But their medical colleagues ignored
them.
Even then, the 'experts' agreed that we get fat because we eat too
much, and simple facts were not going to sway their opionion.
"There is nothing wrong with our food," they said. "We just eat too
much of it. It's _easy_ for anyone to lose weight just by eating less.
Fat people just don't try hard enough to back away from the plate."
THAT WAS THEIR STORY, AND THEY WERE STICKING TO IT.
That's _still _their story, in spite of the fact that scientists and
doctors and patients have proven them wrong time and again.
I found the truth about obesity and other 'illnesses of
civilization', and I want to share it with as many people as possilbe.
My desk now has barely enough room for my computer because it is
covered with a new mountain of books.
Some of these books were written almost 100 years ago, and many more
were written recently by people who studied those old books, and
understand their significance.
The fact that I was able to find so many books by modern authors
proves that _I'm not the only one_ who has grown skeptical about the
standard ideas about weight loss. People are starting to recognize
that the low-calorie, low-fat advice we've been hearing for years just
doesn't work.
As More And More People Come To Their Senses And Take A Look A The
Way We Eat, They\'re Coming To The Same Conclusion I Did - There Is
Something Wrong With The Food We Eat, And The Obvious Answer To Our
Obesity And Diabetes Epidemic Is To Start Eating Better Food.
Since I started this newest reading frenzy in a sceptical mood, I
wasn't surprized when some of the books I ordered turned out to be
duds.
One of the more popular books I bought was written in a style that
would be appropriate for grade school-aged readers, and another one
was so filled with animosity towards everyone who disagreed with the
author that I couldn't make myself finish it. "You're stupid if you
don't agree with me" is not a very sound basis for debate.
Yet, In Almost Every Book I Found At Least One Reference To Another
Author Who Could Give Me Another Piece Of The Puzzle. I Kept On
Reading.
One thing became obvious:
IF WE KEEP FOLLOWING THE USUAL ADVICE ABOUT DIET AND NUTRITION, WE
HAVE NO HOPE OF PREVENTING OUR CHILDREN FROM HAVING A SHORTER, SICKER
LIFE.
That statistics expert I told you about before said the rapidly
increasing rise in childhood obesity rates will cause a growing number
of our children to begin dying of obesity-related illnesses in their
20s, 30s and 40s. What parent would want that for their kids?
We Don\'t Have To Accept That Dire Prediction.
We also don't have to accept our own constantly increasing
waistelines. There really _is_ something we can do about it. It may
not be an 'instant' cure for our weight problems, but it's a
_permanent_ cure, and it works by giving our bodies the whole,
nutritious food that we really need.
* In my search for answers I found a book by a former athlete whose
weight steadily increased to over 400 pounds, in spite of trying every
diet he could find. After he discovered the truth about the dangers of
industrialized food, he and his wife changed the way they shopped for
food, and he dropped over 150 pounds within a year.
* I searched online and found a copy of a used out-of-print book
that I ordered from England. This book outlined a doctor's simple diet
that helped hundreds of his obese and diabetic patients lose their
excess weight at the rate of three pounds a week, like clockwork,
_without_ watching calories, and without causing hunger or food
cravings. The only negative side effect of the diet was simple
boredom. (Compare that to the food cravings, depression, loss of
sexual interest and eventual weight gain that are natural consequences
of low-calorie diets, and you'll see why I found this so interesting).
* I found books that gave detailed documentation about the foods
that people _used_ to eat, before food was refined, manufactured,
chemically altered, and turned into 'convenience foods'. I was able to
see photographs that proved the connection between our modern
industrialized food supply and our modern health problems.
* I found books filled with recipes for creating delicious meals
with traditional, whole foods, and books that give exactingly detailed
instructions for baking incredibly tasty whole-grain and sprouted
grain breads that fill the whole house with their intoxicating aroma.
* I found books that were written by highly respected reporters who
read thousands of research papers and articles to discover exactly why
low-fat, low-calorie diets don't work.
* And I was very excited when I discovered a growing worldwide
underground movement towards traditional, _real_ food, and away from
the industrialized foods that have caused so much illness and personal
despair in the last 200 years. It means that I can find like-minded
people even here in my little eastern Oregon farm town.
I found the advice that I was looking for - and my weight is now
going back down. This weight loss author still hasn't got all her
skinny back, but I have now lost 25 pounds, and I no longer have to be
embarrassed about being an overweight diet author. I still have a few
extra pounds to lose, but the weight is continuing to fall off, like
clockwork, every week.
I'm not hungry, and I don't feel tired or cranky, like I always did
on low-calorie diets.
And, even more importantly, the sugar cravings that I struggled with
for so many years have disappeared since I started eating the kinds of
traditional whole foods that my body really needs.
I Did This Using Information That Has Been Available To Obesity
Experts And Doctors For Over 60 Years, But Which Most Of These Experts
Have Chosen To Ignore Because It Didn\'t Fit With Their Favorite
Theories.
IT\'S TIME FOR ALL OF US TO JOIN THE _REAL FOOD_ DIET REVOLUTION.
The information I uncovered while reading through the stack of books
that are now covering my desk is so important that I want everyone to
benefit from the astounding facts they contain.
But I know most people don't have jobs like mine that pay them for
reading books.
And much of the resource material I've uncovered is either in
expensive out-of-print books, or in 400-page volumes filled with
references and footnotes - hardly the sort of thing that most people
enjoy wading through.
We all crave information that will help us lose our extra weight and
prevent our children from ever getting fat, but the people who need
this information the most are often too busy to do the research on
their own. After all, it's our busy lifestyles that convinced so many
of us that we need to eat the highly processed convenience foods that
are making so many of us fat.
Yet busy people, like my daughter with her new baby, are in great
need of this life-transforming information. We should be getting it
from our doctors, but they aren't telling.
That's why I developed a 16-week study course that will allow busy
people to gradually transform their diets back to the way our healthy,
thin ancestors ate, before the epidemic of heart disease, diabetes and
heart disease.
The _Real Food Diet Revolution _study course isn't just a group of
recipes or menus to follow religiously. And it isn't a rehash of the
standard low-calorie, low-fat diet advice with a different name. We
don't need more of the same old advice that doesn't work--we need
information that will help us all make truly informed decisions about
our diets.
Some Of The Information In The Study Course Will Be Difficult For
Many People To Accept, Because These Ideas Go Against What Most
Current Experts Have Been Saying For So Long.
* It will be hard to believe that you can lose weight without going
hungry, or that many people can lose weight by eating more calories
than you're eating now.
* It will be hard to believe that some of the foods that we find in
a supermarket are no longer healthy for us because of the way they've
been raised. And not just the veggies grown with chemical fertilizers
and pesticides, but meat and milk, too.
* If you've been drinking low-fat milk for years, I'll be telling
you it's bad for you and causes children to get fat. I understand why
will be hard for you to believe me.
* You've probably been avoiding red meat for years because all the
experts told you it would make your blood pressure rise and cause
heart disease. I'm going to tell you that traditional people ate all
the red meat they wanted, along with all the fat that naturally comes
attached to it, and they didn't get heart disease.
* You've been told for years that saturated fats are bad for you,
and I'm going to tell you that this is an unproven idea. In fact, some
saturated fats actually help you lose weight.
* You've been told that vegetarian diets are the healthiest, and
that's something I believed myself for years. Now I know it isn't
true.
It will be hard to believe, and I understand that.
BUT JUST REMEMBER THE LAST TIME YOU WENT ON A STANDARD LOW-CALORIE
DIET:
* DID YOU LOSE WEIGHT? PROBABLY.
* DID IT STAY OFF? _PROBABLY NOT_.
Maybe it's time to take a look at an _alternative_ with a better
track record, and more solid research to back it up.
If you don't have time to read through a 3-foot stack of books to
discover all the information about this revolutionary new diet, (well
- actually it's a very _old_ diet) on your own, I hope you'll consider
signing up for my 16-week study course. It contains all the facts
about food and health that we should have learned from our
grandmothers.
I\'LL GIVE YOU THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO GRADUALLY TRANSFORM YOUR
DIET BACK TO HEALTHY, REAL FOOD:
* You'll receive a lesson once a week for four months. The lessons
will discuss one issue at a time.
* You'll take a very detailed look at all the foods you now eat,
and determine which ones are really whole, natural foods. And which
ones could only be created in a laboratory or with unsafe factory
farming practices that endanger our health.
* You'll learn about the common manufactured foods are especially
fattening, and how to replace them with satisfying foods that reduce
your cravings for nutrition-poor food.
* After learning about the most dangerous foods in the supermarket,
we'll learn about naturally-grown foods that have fat-fighting
elements that are so powerful that pharmaceutical companies are
bottling it and selling it as weight loss supplements. If you know
where to buy these foods, you'll get these fat-busting nutrients
_naturally_, for free.
* You'll be introduced to some famous doctors who were ignored by
their colleagues, but who helped hundreds of patients lose excess
weight quickly, without hunger or uncomfortable side effects.
* You'll learn the truth about low-calorie diets - with this
information, you'll finally understand why you always gained whatever
weight you lost, and _more_, whenever you went on one of these diets.
Hint - _It wasn't your fault. _
* You'll be given links to free online resources for more
information about many of the subjects we discuss, and I'll give you
the titles of books that you can read if you need additional
information - or if you just want to make sure I've interpreted the
information correctly.
* I'll also give you titles of the best cookbooks that have been
written for anyone who is interested in a _real food_ lifestyle. Some
of these books are not available in the United States, but you can
easily order them from their overseas publishers.
* And you'll receive weekly assignments designed to help you assess
the nutritional value of your family's current diet, and to help you
find local sources of the real foods that are no longer available on
supermarket shelves.
* You'll learn how to make inexpensive, savory broths that give
extra taste and excitement to your soup recipes while giving you
calcium and other minerals that you need for health and weight loss.
* And I'll be teaching you how to make delicious, mouth-watering
whole grain breads that will make the whole family happy that you've
made this exciting change in the way you shop and eat.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT BENEFITS OF A REAL FOOD DIET:
Have you ever been told that you had to stay on a low-calorie diet
for the rest of your life if you wanted to keep from gaining weight
again? Most diet books have that statement somewhere near the front.
The problem, of course, is that everybody falls off a low-calorie
diet. How quickly you give it up depends on how strongly you can
resist your own body's desperate plea for more food.
The real food diet, which could also be called the whole food diet
or the traditional food diet, is also intended as a permanent
lifestyle change. But there is no restriction on calories, and the
food is filling and satisfying. Our great great-grandparents would
never have considered starving themselves on purpose, yet they stayed
thin and healthy. They were on the real food diet, because that's the
only kind of food you could get back then.
The food was natural, just as it came from the ground or off the
hoof. They drank whole milk and made cheese and butter, they ate their
steaks and roasts, and baked delicious whole-grain bread, yet they had
no obesity, no diabetes and no heart disease.
What that means is that you can easily commit yourself to staying on
the real food diet, because it makes you feel good, the food is tasty
and satisfying, and you eat whenever you get hungry. Where's the
suffering in that? There isn't any.
The only thing you have to give up is the idea that obesity is
caused by a character flaw. Once you stop believing that, you stop
accepting the idea that you have to suffer in order to lose weight.
It isn't easy to make the change to real food. You will have to hunt
for sources, and you may have to spend a little longer in the kitchen
cooking meals. Your friends and relatives might not understand what
you're doing. You may seem old-fashioned to some people. If those
things matter to you, this course is not for you.
But if it sounds like something you've been looking for all your
life, let's get started right now.
