But as we got deeper in our sessions, I realized that, by not feeling like I had any real power in my relationships with men, I was in fact putting them above me and operating as if they had all the power. So if I'm not acting like I have power, and she's saying men don't really have the power, then who has it? And I came to realize, as a woman, if I'm acting disempowered, then my relationships are going to suffer because they're only going to thrive if I feel empowered. But I learned from Pamela it has to be real. I can't just say it and think it. I have to start truly empowering myself. "How many times have we heard women utter the words 'women are stronger, men are weaker,' etc, but somehow while they're saying it, you get the sense that they've either become fed up with men (and you can't have a good relationship if you're fed up!), or else women say it, but they don't really live their lives like they believe it. If you believe you are deserving of a good and equal relationship, then you can have that too. But you can't just believe it with your mind. You have to feel the truth of it in your heart and soul.
