Dear Fellow Parent:

I know how difficult it is today to raise healthy and successful children today. I have two school-age kids of my own.

It seems like they are overloaded with junk food opportunities, a gazillion TV channels and video games that you're not too crazy about. How do we compete with the billion dollar marketing machines battling for our kids attention?

We want to help them get all the skills they need but we are so busy trying to keep our own heads above water - we just don't have much time. We end up putting a lot of faith into our schools and pediatricians to help us raise them, but is that enough?

Most schools are over-crowded and under-funded. Many teachers do the best they can but just don't have the time or resources that they used to.

Pediatricians are over-loaded as well. How much time do you spend with your child's doctor? Do they really know your kids? Medicine today is big business. Doctors are under pressure to see as many patients as possible and spend the minimum amount of time with each one. This usually translates into leaving their office with a prescription for the latest drug.

What do our kids need to succeed in tomorrow’s world?

Have you ever wondered what your kids have in store for them when they grow up? What will they look like and who will they be? What skills will they need in order to thrive, or even just survive in tomorrow’s world? What kind of job will they have? How well will they be prepared after they leave your nest?

One thing is for sure. The world that our kids will live in as adults will be very different than what we know today. Just think back to how many new things you have seen come and go since you were a kid. Remember the days when you actually had to get off the couch to change the channel? Or you had to wait for weeks to see how your pictures turned out?

The world is changing very quickly.

We live in times of rapid growth and change. Our knowledge is doubling every couple of years. In the mid 90's the internet was just getting started with only a couple million websites. By 2000, a short five years later, there were over 100 million sites. Today, in 2007, the number is approaching a billion websites.

We live in an age of instant gratification, instant results and instant messaging. If Google can't answer your question then who can? We have become accustomed to immediate access to everything. Remember when we actually had to go to the library to find things out?

Our kids will have careers that don’t even exist today.

Entire industries sprout up and disappear in the time it takes to get a college education. This means that much of what students learn today is obsolete before they even get out of school. They receive more information every day than our grandparents did in an entire year. Today's challenges require kids to learn more stuff in less time in order to compete.

How do they sort it all out? How do they focus? Kids growing up today are expected to have 12 to 18 different jobs in there lifetime. Most will not stay with a single employer for more than five years. They will spend more time learning new jobs than mastering them.

The formulas of yesterday no longer apply.

Now more than ever, we must prepare our kids with the tools they need for tomorrow. The best skill we can give our kids today is adaptability. We must train their brains so that they can quickly respond to inevitably changing times.

Kids must learn to face change with excitement and anticipation - not with fear and dread. How many adults today have that skill? How can we ensure that our kids have these skills necessary for their advancement in tomorrow's world?

Brain fitness is required for our children’s success.

Brain Science is discovering that the brain is very good at changing quickly – but only if we feed it the right stuff. We used to think that shortly after birth you stopped growing new brain cells, called neurons. Now we know that this is not true. The brain can grow, change and regenerate as long as we keep it healthy.

Brain scientists also used to think of the brain as somehow independent of physical health. Now we know that is not true either. Physical and mental exercise, coupled with eating foods that are good for the brain and getting enough sleep, all improve the ability to learn and remember.

The health of the brain reflects the health of the body.

The brain is a physical organ and plays by all the same physical rules as the heart and lungs. We need to nourish, exercise and rest our kids’ brains just like the rest of their body. Yet during a time when we most need to maximize our kids’ brain fitness to thrive in their modern world, we are neglecting their physical health.

Just look at these facts:
1 out of 5 school age kids are overweight. 1 out of 3 kids born after the year 2000 will likely get diabetes. 1 out of 5 high school age kids have early stages of heart disease. Millions of kids are on psychiatric medication. ADHD diagnosis is at a record high.
This is translating into lower academic performance, decreased productivity and increased stress in our kids - exactly the opposite of what they need for success!

The recipes for brain and body health have changed.

Several generations ago we didn't worry about getting enough exercise. We all worked physical jobs and walked everywhere we went. We didn't worry about eating right. There were no processed foods - we ate fresh foods from local farms. We didn't worry about getting enough sleep. There were no electronic alarm clocks kicking us out of bed to get to school and work. But these times are gone.

Today it takes action to avoid poor health. We find our grocery stores and restaurants littered with bad choices. It's difficult to find the time get the exercise we know we all need. On top of that, we are so busy that we end up stealing hours from our sleep to get everything done.

Focus on brain fitness will optimize the body and the mind.

The brain is the center of everything we do. When we focus on strategies that improve our kids' brain fitness, the physical and mental health of their brains, then we simultaneously improve the health of their bodies as well. The brain is the only organ that is physical, emotional and spiritual.

If we want to give our kids the best chance at success we must give them the tools required to achieve it. We must nourish their brains with all of the necessary ingredients for brain fitness. The Brain Code ACTionTM system can help you achieve that.

You can start improving your kids' brain fitness today.

Experience sustained energy and increased productivity. Improve brain and body health through fun physical activities. Understand how to rest to boost learning and brain regeneration. Balance learning new ideas with practicing important skills. Get your kids to think for themselves and improve their self-confidence. Find out which beliefs are thrusting your kids forward and which are holding them back.
I am passionate about improving kids physical and mental fitness. It may sound cliché, but they are our future. We must start attending to their health to create a future for all of us.

Sincerely,

P.S. If we, as parents, do not step up to give our kids the tools they need for success then who will? School budgets are slashed every year at the same time they are expected to teach more kids. Teachers don't have the time or the resources to do what is expected of them. Brain Fitness will teach you key points with a quick and easy to understand action plan.

Remember, you will learn easy strategies that you can begin using right away to ensure your kids have the tools they need for success tomorrow.

P.P.S. Once you begin to adopt the principles that I cover in Brain Fitness you will notice some improvements in the way you feel and the way your kids act.

You will understand the incredible value of focusing on brain fitness for you and your kids. But you won't want to stop there. You will want to adopt these principles into your lives so that you can reap the lifetime rewards of the program.

So be ready for increased energy, increased mental clarity and reduced stress!

Dr. Dean Miller
Former NASA Director of Physiological Research

“I give a 110% endorsement to Dr. Simon Evans’ incredible new book ‘Brain Fitness - A Recipe for Feeding Your Child's Dreams and Unlocking Their Maximum Brain Power’. The information in this book is a must for kids from 1 to 100. I have read Dr. Evans book three times in the past six weeks. The first time I opened the book I read until after 1:00 a.m. I guarantee that it will change your life in many very positive ways.

I have competed as a national champion athlete and coached at the high school, university, professional and Olympic levels. I have served as the director of physiological research for N.A.S.A and developed the exercise systems used for conditioning in outer space. I have also served as the National Director of the Physical Fitness Institute of America. I know how to separate good advice from bad. I can tell you without hesitation that Dr. Evans book will make a ‘Big Time’ difference in your and your family’s life.

After the 9/11 disaster I came out of retirement to help our youth. Last year I spent 171 days in middle and high school classrooms and talked to approx. 64,000 students. I talk about a Game Plan for Life – career planning, personal fitness, goal setting, time management, smoking, drugs, the importance of a second language, and the power of education. The information in Dr. Evans book has greatly added to my daily presentations and my personal health plan.

In our world obesity is truly an epidemic – it has grown from 22% twenty years ago to over 50% today. It costs Americans $117 billion a year. A second epidemic is diabetes in kids. It was almost non-existent 50 years ago and we now have over 250,000 new cases a year. Last but not least, a growing number of researchers predict that 30% of American high school students will leave school without graduating (Time magazine – April 2006). It is time we face reality. Our youth are the future of this great nation. You owe it to yourself and your children to be an answer to the problems. We must change our thinking from cure to prevention. Dr. Evans’ book will not just demand your attention, it will give you the daily, all important personal game plan for change.”

Debbie Papadakis
Child Therapy Expert

"I started reading Dr. Evans book, Brain Fitness, a couple of weeks ago. What an incredible, incredible book this is. I suggest that anyone interested in children’s health should have this book. We never know before we have children how to raise them. Schools do not teach this and we say ‘well I did the best I knew how’. I think Brain Fitness is an incredible source of information for people to raise healthy children. That’s all I have to Say."

Dr. Marian Moratto
College Educator

"I strongly encourage you to purchase Dr. Evans book and I encourage you to tell everyone that you know who has children about it. I am in the academic setting as a college teacher and this is one of the most inspirational and educational information products regarding educating our children. Especially in this day and age when everybody is so hurried. Children are so tired already. We are seeing burnouts by the fourth grade and we need to pay attention to what we’re feeding our children and the activities we are allowing them or encouraging them to participate in. I thank Dr. Simon Evans for teaching us how to deal with our children."
