One late weeknight as Alex and I were getting ready to go to bed, we faced a dilemma that most couples are familiar with: to have sex, or not to have sex?
We were both tired from another busy day, and our alarm clock was set for 6:30 a.m. We didn’t have time for a long lovemaking session, but we didn’t want to fall into the trap of skipping sex either. Because, as we all know, that can lead to relationship problems down the road.
Given the time crunch, we weren’t sure what to do. Pleasuring a woman in the traditional oral sex positions takes a while and can be physically taxing and even downright uncomfortable for her partner — and sometimes for her, too. On average, women take 20 minutes or longer to reach orgasm. Unfortunately, even the most loving, gifted partner will start to get a sore neck, back, jaw or tongue after just a few minutes of going down on her—and yes, wish she would “just finish already!”
Most women, being the intuitive creatures they are, know when this is happening, which can make the experience difficult for them too—emotionally as well as physically. In fact, nothing shuts down a woman’s orgasm faster than the feeling that her partner isn’t enjoying it.
