5 reasons why some runners struggle to lose weight:



1.) They train at the same pace day in and day out.  Training at the same pace will prepare you to finish a race, but it will also plateau your body; you're ultimately training your body to conserve calories and conserve glycogen (carbs) in the muscles so that you can last the whole way.

2.) They only do running and nothing else.  You need to shock the system and train the body as a whole.  Long distance running is a single planar sport--meaning you only move in one direction; forward.  By cross training and strength training, you're able to train the body to move in different directions, allowing the body to utilize more calories, which ultimately helps you get leaner and stronger.  We have some awesome 20 min core/strength routines that we think you'll love! 

3.) Long distance running only engages one energy system; the Oxidative system.  Again, the body plateaus when training at just one energy system and starts conserving calories.  A simple hill sprint workout or track workout can change all that.  Add weights in the mix and you're unstoppable! The K-Fit 6 program has everything laid out for you; day by day quality running workouts to take your running to the next level. 

4.)  Runners can't pace when it comes to carb loading.  Most runners hear of the carbo loading and that you shouldn't shy away from carbs.  The truth is, most runners diet is made up of 85-90% carbs (with a huge chunk of that coming from bad carbs) which leads to a constant battle for weight loss.  The Starch Control for Runners (SCR) method that you'll learn in the program is a smart and easy way of eating that will help your body stay satiated all while keeping an overall balanced approach to eating.
