Ebooks and video courses require users to take some kind of action after reading or watching. That’s why so many people aren’t making the money they could be online. However software on the other hand actually DOES something. It makes life for the user easier somehow and that is why it is easier to sell.
So How Do I Get My Own Software?
Well there are a few options open to you. You can:
Code it yourself. If you have the coding know-how and the time & patience to code the software yourself, then I take my hat off to you. This is unfortunately out of the question for most of us, myself included.
. Partner with someone who can code. This has worked for a lot of marketers who don’t want to pay outsourcer fees upfront. They team up with a programmer and release the software as a team effort. Of course the programmer gets a portion of the profits which may end up being more than the cost of an outsourcer.
. Hire an outsourcer. This comes with its own pros and cons.
What About Outsourcing?
I love the idea of outsourcing. You come up with an idea and pay some nice people to create the product, graphics, sales copy and so on. Sounds great.
And you can bet that the top marketers have a big team of outsourcers (or an in-house team) to take care of each part of product creation. I considered it briefly myself.
Trouble is, you still need to know a bit about coding yourself, so you know that what the outsourcer is delivering is stable, secure code.
The most reliable coders charge premium fees for their work. But just because a coder is expensive does not guarantee quality of work. It really is a double edged sword. Just finding a reliable qualified programmer can take a lot of time and money that the majority of us don’t have.
