Vocal Insanity – Intensive Multimedia Vocal Training Program
Hi, my name is Alec. I’m a singer and I’m also a normal 26 year old guy from Essex, England… I know what you’re thinking… and NO, I don’t like ‘Tea’.
When I first started to sing in my early teens I dreamed of singing to packed crowds, with people clapping and singing along while I was ‘doing my thing’ and fronting a band on a huge stage… and at 13/14 I wanted girls to start being my groupies… (I loved that idea…).
Did I get all of that!? Did it all happen?!
You guessed it….. no….. And you know what? I felt like I sucked, bad… I lost a lot of confidence and didn’t believe in myself as much anymore.
As sad and annoying as it all was, I suppose I had to face facts, I needed a to do a LOT of practice! I worked out really quickly that I had a whole LOT of work to do and a really LONG way to go if I wanted to sound like any of those amazing world class artists I saw at concerts or on T.V. and loved at the time!
But like any kid, I was filled with more questions than answers… Where do I start!? How do I sound cool? Can I really sing that high? Can I sing a note for that long? Why is my voice doing this… or doing that…??
Where did all kids go for answers back then? (Before you could ask google anything!)…
Mum and Dad! Aren’t they amazing? They know everything or they can help you find out everything!
I started to have singing lessons, soaking up information like a super dry sponge! Then I researched… reading books, watching videos, taking courses, both at school, college, university and privately!
Then I mixed all that information up into a super singing style. Testing and experimenting all while working out what worked and what really didn’t work. I wanted to find out what worked the fastest so I could get the results I wanted quicker and quicker……
Then… one hot summer afternoon five years ago…. IT HIT ME!!… it was INSANE… I remember thinking… ‘that’s it?!’… how did I not see this years ago? How did I miss this? It changed everything, and literally overnight I improved a crazy amount! it just worked!… I had that perfect mix! everything fit like a puzzle…
So we’re five years down the line… I’ve travelled the world singing, got my applause… got my screaming encores… found the woman I love (I didn’t actually need that many groupies!) and settled down.

Module 01 - Self-Assessment
You will be starting off by taking the Vocal Insanity Self-Assessment test. This quick and accurate vocal examination will highlight where both the positive and negative aspects of your voice lie. You will be shown which areas of your voice need extra work and where your focus will be concentrated. This module is designed to give you an idea of your vocal skill as it stands before any training.
Module 02 - Breathing
You will be exploring the importance of breathing while singing. Breathing correctly and safely can increase the skill and range of your voice incredibly within an unbelievable short amount of time. You will be provided with an assortment of breathing exercises designed to increase your lung capacity, strengthen your diaphragm and improve the control you have over your voice.
Module 03 - Range & Tuning
You will find out precisely what the range of your voice is from low to high. You will begin to study the importance of your range and how it affects your voice. You will also begin to study tuning and how staying in key is vital to singing successfully.
Module 04 - Safety
You will learn all about the do’s and don’t of singing safely. This video warns you of the many substances, activities and environments that can cause vocal stress and harm to your vocal chords.
Module 05 - Tone & Dynamics
You’ll be studying the tone of an artists voice, what makes them stand out from the crowd and how to achieve a tone that you want, whether it be rocky and gravelly or smooth and sultry. You’ll also be looking at the importance of dynamics when performing. You will be provided with exercises to stretch your vocal skills to their limits and improve your dynamic range.
Module 06 - Agility
You will start to develop a sense of your own style, vocal flexibility and to demonstrate some of the star quality that you’re hoping for. Practice these exercises as much as possible as the will unlock higher quality agility and better sounding singing.
Module 07 - Basic P.A Set-Up
You will learn how to set up a basic P.A system from scratch. This video will lead you through all of the steps needed to set-up easily, efficiently and without any nasty feedback.
Module 08 - Genre & Style
You will be furthering your development by studying genre and styles of music. Each genre of music has its’ own traditions and techniques which make up the overall sound of the music/vocalist. This may be the point in which you choose to concentrate on one particular style of music, or possibly try as many out as possible until you decide which style suits you best.
Module 09 - Performance Techniques
You will be learning how to combat those tricky stage nerves. Learn how to converse naturally and with charisma in this video. You will be provided with advice on talking to your audience, telling jokes, being natural and movement.
Module 10 - Warm-Ups and Practice Regimes
You will be learning about the importance of warming up correctly. You will be provided with a collection of warm-up exercises that will help improve your singing skills safely and warm up the voice easily. You will also be exploring the idea of creating practice regimes in which you will make the most out of your singing practice. By scheduling and precisely timing your practice regime, you can substantially improve the efficiency of your practice.
