We are all beings created with four beings - Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and Spiritual.  In our culture, we generally honor the first three, but often fail to even recognize the Spiritual Being.  Employers try to create an environment of safety, give work breaks, sick time and days off to care for the Physical Being of the staff.

Many places of employment offer in-service education, college tuition assistance programs and send employees to seminars and training sessions to foster the growth of the workers' Intellectual Being.

Bereavement or maternity benefits, vacation time, counseling services and job-sharing or flex time hours are ways some firms support the Emotional Being.

But, mainly because of being overly concerned about "separating church and state," and of being politically correct in not wanting to offend minorities, businesses have neglected the Spiritual Being of their employees.  They have failed to embrace the fact that Spirituality and Religion are two totally separate and distinct topics.

SEVENTH DIRECTION is a name given for the "spirit within" each of us; the "heart of humanity;" "the soul." It is a term taken from the Lakota Native American people.  While the first six directions (east, south, west, north, above and below) are the more easily recognizable parts of creation, it is the journey inward that is the most difficult, the seventh direction.

So our name speaks our mission; that is to struggle to come to recognize, understand and nourish the Spirit within.  We do not have to be "Religious" to be Spiritual!  Because we may be part of an organized church or religion does not necessarily mean that we are Spiritual!  Being Spiritual means that we relate to all parts of our world and creation as connected and even related.

St. Francis of Assisi speaks of the sun as brother and the moon as sister, the earth as mother and the deer as brother.  Surely in his Christian walk, he came to understand that he was spiritually related to all parts of creation.

We can learn to be more like St. Francis in our private and family lives, in our society and in our workplace without ever preaching any particular religion.  There are people who are able to live their lives out of a true sense of all seven directions. but who practice no formal religion.  Being Spiritual is seeing the needs of others, of our world, our society and then being moved to serve because the spirit that resides inside all other life is the same spirit that sustains me.

This Website is designed to help you to become more aware of your own spiritual being and assist you in developing an awareness through various resources as to how you can become a more spiritual being.  It is only when we live out of all seven directions that we become whole.

We believe that real peace only comes from first understanding our own Spirit, and then honoring that same Spirit that gives life to all other parts of this world.  We are offering you a [FREE GIFT]!  As a way of introducing you to us we are providing you a [FREE] resource to either help you begin or to invite you to look at your next steps on your personal spiritual journey.
