How the âStudy Guideâ was created?
I was an average student who majored in Physical Education at Virginia State University. I always dreamed of being a big time high school football coach in my hometown. I was a semester away from graduating and seeing my dream come true when reality had set in I had yet to pass the Math Praxis 1 test. The problem was I could not receive my classes to graduate without first passing the Math Praxis 1 test.This was something I was scared might happen since my sophomore year of college the first time I took the math praxis test and failed. I continued to take the test six times up until that point but I still continued to fail. I hated how much was âridingâ on this one little test. Everything I had worked so hard for and paid for to get this point just to not be allowed to move forward, it was killing me. So here I was 2 weeks before registration of classes seized, it was either pass the test or get my classes or not graduate and had wasted my time. So I figured I would give it one more try this time changing up my study habits. I signed up to take the test the week before registration deadline.This is where it gets good I noticed that each time I took the test my score would rise 1 to 2 point, but now I was stuck at a 175 when I needed a 178 to pass. So I thought to myself I am only a few points away maybe I know the math I just need some tips from my teacher who tutored students at my university to pass the test. I scheduled a meeting with my teacher to ask for any tips that he might know that would help with the praxis. Within 1 hour my teacher had shown me more tips, strategies, and secrets than I had learned in the 2 years I studied using traditional prep books. The next week I took the test and passed with a 178. I couldnât believe I had finally passed and I felt it was all because of the tips I learned in that one hour with my tutor. I was relieved for about a week until I realized how much money I had wasted in taking the test 6 times before and wondered why I hadnât found these tips and secrets sooner. I thought it would be nice to share this information with my roommate who was struggling with passing the test and within a week of studying the information he passed the test.
