families, one to another, preserving this knowledge through time.
It wasn't until recently in the 1970’s, that Dr. Jim Rakocy
at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) began researching this
gardening method, spending years studying, researching, and
revolutionized this gardening method to get it just right to be able
to utilize today’s modern technology.

This revolutionized gardening method is changing and saving the lives

Swedish breakfast, consisting of - apple, bread, butter, cheese,
coffee, cream, orange juice, and sugar - traveled up to 24,901 miles
to get to their breakfast table!

abundance they are selling and giving to others in their communities.
In growing locally and providing jobs they are reviving their
communities and saving their family and other from starvation,
deprivation, and joblessness.
Though this gardening method is still relatively unknown to most home
gardeners to this day, many have captured its essence, and this
gardening method is taking root in homes and communities around the
world and is spreading like wildfire, igniting a gardening and
agricultural revolution.

As soon as I was able to get back home and hop onto my computer, I
began my search, checking out every website, blog, forum, article, and
video that I could find on the internet. In my search I discovered
that Aquaponic Gardening is the combination of Hydroponic Gardening
(growing plants without soil) and Aquaculture (farm raising of fish,
much like a fish tank or home aquarium).
These two systems apart from each other have several advantages and
disadvantage to them, though when these two systems are combined, you
have the best of both worlds, providing for the most sustainable and
productive food system that has ever been developed!
