This same kid, used to actively play basketball with his friends, and head out to parks to throw the ol’ skin around. Long story short, the group that played those with him never saw him again after that besides those that were in the same school.
He used to play 18 hours a days. School? Screw that. This was the time he spent “recuperating” for his next session of World of Warcraft.
Even forcing the rest of his guild to keep up with him or leave the guild (Good guilds killing end game raid bosses were hard to come by in those days).
His parents were hard on him at first. Lecturing him on the importance of his studies and having the discipline to balance out his life and gaming. Eventually, they gave up on him, exclaiming “It’s his life. Let him sleep in the bed he makes…”
The boy lost weight to the point of malnutrition, but it was alright. Getting sick more often just meant playing more World of Warcraft at home.
This lasted for 4 years.
He went off to college and somehow managed to meet a girl that was pretty hardcore in a game called DotA. Pretty cool, the both of them gamers and such.
