ARE YOU READY FOR A NEW YEAR?
Posted on by
Wow, 2012 has come and gone. And the world didn't end!
The older that you get, the faster time goes. It is just a
mathematical certainty.
Look at it like this When you are 6 years old, Christmas seems like
it takes forever to come because one year represents 1/6th of your
life.
However, when you are 38 then one year is one 1/38th. Therefore the
time seems to go so fast.

BELL ROCK LIGHTHOUSE: PROVING THE "IMPOSSIBLE"
Posted on by
"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent
will not; nothing in the world is more common than unsuccessful men
with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." - Calvin Coolidge
Recently I was watching the 7 Wonders of the Industrial World by the
BBC. What really stood out was an episode about the Bell Rock
Lighthouse.
A man by the name of Robert Stevenson had a vision. They told him
that it couldn't be done but despite all of the challenges the project
was accomplished.

MASTERING THE ART OF SELF FORGIVENESS
Posted on by
Do you sometimes have trouble with self forgiveness? I am sure it
is a battle that everyone one of us has come across.
Long after others have forgiven us we have trouble forgiving
ourselves. It is quite easy to keep replaying a particular incident
in our minds over and over again.
This is especially true if we hurt someone we care about. Today I
want to talk about mastering the art of self forgiveness.

7 SELF IMPROVEMENT TIPS I LEARNED FROM ROCKY BALBOA
Posted on by
Do you have the eye of the Tiger?
“It ain't about how hard you hit. It's about hard you can get hit
and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving
forward. That's how winning is done!” - Rocky Balboa
For most of my life I have been a Rocky fan. To me he represents
the ultimate underdog story.
And though the movies are fictional I believe that there is a lot of
self improvement tips we can learn from Rocky's work ethic. I should
know because after watching one of his movies I am pumped!
I later learned that the motivation I receive from his movies is not
just good for working out and exercise. In fact, some things can
carry over into other areas of my life as well.
Here are 7 self improvement tips I have learned from Rocky Balboa:

KEEPING AN OPEN MIND IS CRUCIAL TO SELF IMPROVEMENT
Posted on by
Challenge your way of thinking!
Are you keeping an open mind? Sometimes this is easier said than
done.
Once presented with a new idea or information we can subconsciously
reject it without even realizing it. Worse yet, some people
consciously do it!
I love learning new things and I love learning about people. Often
I am quite surprised at the things I learn. But instead of rejecting
the information I am at least willing to listen first.
Don't be like the majority; keeping an open mind is crucial to self
improvement! Here are 3 ways you can go about doing just that

3 TIPS FOR SETTING AND ACHIEVING GOALS
Posted on by
There is no tomorrow, change your life today!
"Goals are dreams with deadlines." - Diana Scharf Hunt
Have you ever looked back on your life and wondered "what
happened?" Maybe the dreams you had for yourself never came to pass.
Or maybe you set a goal for yourself only to end up quitting a short
period of time after. When this happens, we achieve nothing at all!
A huge reason that this happens is a lack of commitment. If you
aren't committed to a particular goal you will slowly start putting
that goal aside in favor of something else.
Here are 3 tips for setting and achieving goals:

GETTING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
Posted on by
Something I never thought I would do. . .
"Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are
willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new."
- Brian Tracy
Are you afraid of getting out of your comfort zone? If so, you are
missing out on a world of excitement!
At first it might seem scary (okay, really scary) but when it's all
said and done you will feel a massive rush! It is this surge of
energy that helps us feel alive.
A lot of the time we think too much before we end up acting. And if
we think too long we talk ourselves right out of it.

HOW TO FACE TRIALS AND COME OUT ON TOP
Posted on by
Trials are inevitable, yet you can overcome them!
"The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected
without trials." - Chinese proverb
It really is true. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Sometimes it can seem like we have nothing left in us and our well is
dry. Yet we always find something in us that helps us to keep
pushing on.
Or perhaps when we've reached our limit and we can't take anymore
something happens which provides a way of escape. And in the end we
come out a better person.
In light of the above, I want to share a few tips on how to face
trials and still come out on top.

WARNING: TRYING TO PLEASE EVERYONE WILL NOT PLEASE YOU!
Posted on by
Seeing KISS and Motley Crue with my Honey!
"You can't please everyone, so you might as well please yourself." -
Gene Simmons
Anyone that knows me well knows that I am a huge KISS fan.
Actually, huge is an understatement.
In my eyes, there is KISS, and then there is every other group. But
that is a topic for another discussion. What I also love about KISS
is the message they put out.
They put out the message to not only believe in yourself but more
importantly to be yourself. To me that ties in perfectly with self
improvement and it forms the basis for this blog post.
Have you ever been confronted with the idea that you should always be
trying to please everyone? It seems like a noble idea but in the end
it might please everyone but it won't please you!
Here are 3 things to consider:

THE KEY TO HANDLING DIFFICULT PEOPLE
Posted on by
Mean people suck!
"When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with
creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling
with prejudice, and motivated by pride and vanity." - Dale Carnegie
I really love that quote because that really sums up everything right
there. Remembering it will help to solve a lot of problems and save
a lot of time in the future.
We really can't avoid peoplethey are everywhere! We can try, but
sooner or later we all have to deal with people.
And to make matters worse, we sometimes run intowell to put it
nicely, schmucks! It could be at work, in our social circle, on
Facebook or even at church.
It is important to understand that people are people and generally
speaking there are certain factors that are always constants. In
this post I want to 8 share things that have worked for me when it
comes to handling difficult people.
