MY PERSONAL STRUGGLES WITH FOOD…

Back in 2008, when I was 26 years old, I was going through what
one might consider a “quarter-life crisis”. I was working like a
corporate mad-woman while simultaneously going through a very
difficult breakup. The stress compounded and as a result, my health
started to degrade,
particularly my digestion and my skin.

The stress had impaired my digestive system, and I had developed
leaky gut syndrome and dysbiosis which eventually led to a laundry
list of food sensitivities, gluten and dairy being 2 of the main
culprits.

I had the most offensive and foul-smelling gas, I was constipated
for days, I barely slept, I
started to get heart palpitations and I had developed the worst
cystic acne, not only on my face, but on my back and chest. Needless
to say, I felt and looked gross.

It even got to the point where I would have to excuse myself from
training clients to pass gas (horrible) and there were times I would
have to leave social events with friends because my bloating was so
uncomfortable and painful. It was not a happy time for me.

I knew something was not right with my body, and so I started
working with a holistic practitioner to get to the root of the
problem. Over the next 3-4 years, I had a lot success and saw a lot
of improvement in my health and my body. I did a lot of experimenting
with food, and I had to come up with gluten and dairy free recipes
that actually tasted good, and were good
for me.

Over time I started to collect all my recipes, I started to blog
about them, and then I started to develop my nutrition-coaching
program that utilized all of the recipes that I had come up with over
the last several years.

slowly re-introducing them as your gut and your metabolism heals. As
