Designing a collection is meant to be challenging and exciting and
for most designers a big dream. To be able to wear your own designed
garments and see your own label show-cased in a nearby shop or on a
catwalk. I had that exact same dream and along with it, millions of
questions little over two years ago. Since then I have gone through it
all first hand, from designing the concepts to finding a suitable
manufacturer and actually getting the collection into shops.
JUST A LITTLE ABOUT ME, ALICE
I always wanted to make my own Fashion Collection and sell it but it
wasn't until a rainy (and random)Friday that I decided to quit my job
as a sales assistant in a little Fashion Store in central Stockholm,
Sweden!
I was then 28 and I felt that it was finally time to start making it
happen. With one year study at a Fashion Design School in Italy,
Florence in 2001 as my source of designing knowledge I set out to make
my very own Collection, not just that I needed to travel and get out
in the world too.

Well, three years have now past and I have a gained the experience,
got a sense of the industry and happy with my Clothing Labels setup. I
have managed to source a reliable clothing manufacturer and have had a
growing network of shops selling my previous collections, I sort of
did it and in fact, I still do (learning and ever growing as the I
come across new challenges).
Let me tell you, I am NOT a big name fashion designer and I am not
going to enhance my career and portrait it to be something it's not. I
am just a normal girl that followed my dream to start my own fashion
label. It has taken me time and travels, covering most Asian countries
over the period of two years before reaching my goal; being able to
make my sketches into reality. During this journey I gained a lot of
valuable knowledge and experience.
The reason for starting this site was that I received a lot of the
same questions from other young entrepreneurs wanting to do the same
thing, so much in fact that I decided to put my experience (and what I
have learnt) into a complete Guide to help others.

said: "Don't start your own brand until you have worked in the
business for a long time. Lets say 10-20 years. Otherwise it could be
hard to make it. You need to learn as much as possible, and it will
take years". I just worked 2 years and I already wanted to be my own
