Its true, fights do end up on the ground sometimes, but its also true
that ALL fights start standing up. We don't suggest you ignore the
fact that some fighters want to take the fight to the ground and given
enough time they will take you down. But just because fights go to the
ground doesn't mean you have to master every possible technique on the
ground. You only need a handful of ways to escape the ground and get
back to your feet. If your opponent wants to take you down, you should
not play into their strategy and stay there, you should work to get
back to your feet and make your opponent fight your fight. The MMASCA
has nothing against grappling. Our point of view is even a well
rounded fighter needs a specialty. There are only so many hours in the
day you can train, especially if you or your fighters, still have a
