Web 2.0 Traffic | Training, Advice, Understanding

Dear Entrepreneur and Online Friend:
This
is not a sales letter. It is merely an introduction.
My name is Laura Childs and I run my online business while living deep in the
countryside of Ontario Canada. Have been for 11 years now and I wouldn't trade
it for all the glitz and glamour the world has to offer.
During that time I've never punched a time clock or worried about the length
of a commute. I wake to the rooster crowing, the horses running past my bedroom
window (they actually make quite a racket!), and I get myself to work - three
doors down and to the right - the home office!Over the years, through contact
on various websites around the internet I've had hundreds, perhaps thousands of
people write to me and tell me I'm "living the dream".Some days
feel just like that. That life couldn't be more perfect...But I have a
secret. Last year I almost threw in the towel on my online business...Sales
were slumping, and traffic declining even though I knew more people
were coming online every day.I knew I could just coast and live
off the money my sites were making - even with a decline in traffic and
customers, but I like to fight. I admit it. So
I hit the books (so to speak) and dug into the numbers...And
at the end of that dark journey of research and discovery - right before I returned to raising
horses and painting murals for a living - I discovered a fount of
new website traffic sources.I know it's hard to believe, but I promise this is true and will
even disclose one of those best kept traffic secrets in a minute. This
is the traffic that saved my business. Here's how
the story goes:In 2004 I came upon an awesome
discovery about using RSS Feeds to drive a stampede of traffic to any website
(well nearly any website - we couldn't spin an RSS Feed for one fellow
and his practically spammy offers).I shared my findings with Dr. Joe Vitale
and performed a few short tests on his site. The results were so
good that Joe and I wrote a book about it and kept customers updated
through a Member's Area for two years before we closed the doors.
That was the old Stampede Secret.I stopped selling the old Stampede Secret
when the techniques inside stopped working. And, as I said, I was ready to just give up
completely on online business. I
didn't understand it. I had been a master at getting free website
traffic for years and still held many coveted #1 spots in Google and Yahoo. But
even with those top search engine spots, the traffic had slowed to a fraction of
it's former glory.
All the niches I had tucked away under a separate name, all the sites I
had spent the last three years testing traffic techniques on - the whole works
was going to go!
But there was one more traffic theory to try. An inkling of a source so
special, no one else could (or would) ever share it with me.

And business got better.
A lot better.
I know that is hard to believe. But I promise you it’s true.
In fact, I’ll tell you one of those secrets..."Why,"
I asked, "hasn't any other traffic expert been sharing these
secrets?"So I began to write and share. I posted those Web
2.0 traffic sources on my general internet marketing blog. Before I knew it,
well, everyone was talking about Web 2.0! I'm sure it was just a matter
of timing - after all the internet has been logging citations of Web 2.0 for
years. 9 million results were listed on google alone back in 2005. This stuff
isn't new - I don't care who tells you it is.I've
since taken most of those posts down - you'll still find a few,
tucked away in cobweb corners on my other site - but many had to go. The
old Web 2.0 content was, in a sense, misleading people who did not have direct contact
with me. Far too 'cut and paste' to
serve results to anyone outside of the 'make money online' niche."What's
needed," one of my subscribers wrote, "are the answers
for the rest of us..."So I dug deeper and kept
better notes. I banged out then re-tested my theory across multiple
niches, and closely
examined everything I'd done to make such a drastic difference. Most
of it had been right under my nose the entire time. Yet some of the
secrets would only show themselves
through intense and relentless research. Still more came about as a result
of quiet and careful contemplation.

How to increase your traffic and save your business...in just about any
market
Listen, I’ve been online creating websites since my daughter was 3.
She is now just a few months away from 14. I’ve been relatively private about the
work I do or the niches I target. Usually when I make one of my sites
known or traffic sources public I end up with cut-throat competition and
somehow the dirty players find a way to get that site blacklisted.
Take note, the 'experts' in this industry are very good at what they do
- in fact I heard one of them publicly state on an audio this week that
'we (marketers) are not bound to any moral or ethical codes...'
So I keep my sites private, my traffic stats to myself now. Unless it's
a website that I consider to be a 'test' site or one that I know I'll be
throwing to the dogs in the near future. I strongly suggest you do the
same.In fact some of my sites, my husband doesn't even know exist! And
there's only one other marketer I trust enough to even know the name I have my
business tucked away under...I know that some of the 'big' names in marketing
will show you their money makers, or screen captured versions of their income -
but for those of us who don't know how to damage a fellow entrepreneur's website
reputation, we need to keep quiet, because we also don't know how to protect
ourselves.Let's get back to talking about traffic. Web 2.0 traffic. Traffic
that is highly targeted to your market."The
magic of targeted traffic is all in the strategy, not in
the..."Grunt
work. That's what many traffic ebooks and courses
today have you doing. Grunt work that the big dogs instructed their  freelancer to write about, perhaps test and track - then again, perhaps not.
What if you knew how to get website visitors without working like a monkey?
What if you knew a smarter way to double your traffic by
defining, then employing, an actual strategy?
A strategy that no one else seems to want to
share...a strategy that works in the new Web 2.0 world!
It's not geek-power, it's not even hour-power, (and it sure as heck
isn't spamming!), it's simply a matter of
putting your brain to use once you learn the strategy. And it should
double your traffic, month after month if you keep working it, with no
more than a few hours of your time.
Furthermore it's worked across multiple niches, even in some very
competitive markets, on old and newer sites alike... Here's one
of my test-throw-away sites I was talking about once I used the strategy I laid out
for it.
It's a screenshot from a third party (you can even go check
it yourself right now...)

Now I know full well that 2,000 visitors won't put more horses in your
stable, but given that this site went from under 300 website visitors a
month in August, to
2100 in February, with just a piece of the strategy, you'll see why I'm so excited.
(A word of caution for anyone who considers surfing over and reverse
engineering the work I'd done on, or to, that site since December...forget it. I back-peddled nearly
everything and if you follow what's showing there you'll be no richer in traffic
for your efforts. I didn't do this to be rude, but to save people who believe
there are shortcuts to the glory.) I don't want you guessing
when you could be knowing, thinking, and devising a strategy
that makes sense in the long term.
Look: if you want to flood your website with eager readers and buyers,
if you want higher search engine ranking without much extra work (yes I did
forget to mention that added benefit), if you want
to double, triple or more, your targeted traffic then remember this
word.
Strategy.
Not Grunt Work. Strategy. Smart business ownership. No more chasing
rainbows. This is something that very few marketers teach
- heck I'm not even sure all that many even think about it. Let alone how to use it to make money.
As you’ll see, this is about to shake up the whole
online marketing business, set new standards in online training, and change the
way you think about your business forever.

Because no one else is talking about this stuff in a manner that
makes sense to your business - unless you're in the same
business they are.

Yet it is the very core of all you do for your online business -
from targeted traffic to sales, to subscribers.

Think about it, most of them are telling you to head over
and spam MySpace, then go 'digg' your articles, then set up multiple free
accounts over here, and oh yes, you must buy this software to automate the
entire process...and, and...Ugh. No matter how
you slice it, it's grunt work. It's hours of your life. And I'm
still not convinced that any of it works in spades - outside of the geek,
gadget or marketing crowd.Want to Know What
Possibly Could
Be Shared That You Don't Already Know About Online Business?
I'll let Tiffany Dow tell you since she's the first person I
shared the strategy with. Tiffany, if you don't know her already,
spent years as a ghostwriter for Rich Schefren, John Reese, Jimmy
Brown and other marketing gurus.
The woman knows her stuff so well that the masters in this
business pen their names to her work!

"As a firm believer in the power of
peer-to-peer influence in the marketing world, I'm
delighted that you've created a product that guides us
through the process of positioning ourselves in this
environment without the usual spam approach.
I especially appreciate the 12 Point Action Plan
for Web 2.0 because there's no opportunity for
failure if we apply the information you've given us.
While my own
expertise is primarily with Squidoo, what I've
learned in Stampede Secret 2.0 is how to develop an
actual blueprint to my socialization strategy so
that each day I can log on and tweak my efforts for
more traffic and sales.
In addition to being packed with solid
information and advice, it's also a great read,
which is important to me as a writer because so many
products tend to be dry and a struggle to keep my
attention.
I can't wait for Stampede Secret 3.0!"

Tiffany is actually talking about a report I wrote in early 2007. And, for six
months I sold it right here on the page you're reading now.But
life changed again. And I couldn't devote as much time to my
subscribers and clients as I've been able to in the past. You see
I have an open door policy. If my customers needed me, to bounce ideas off of,
to create a strategy with, or to help unearth the Web 2.0 traffic that they were
looking for - I'd be there. I can't see how anyone can do business online
without being available to assist their customers and clients when just a little
extra help is all that's usually needed.Right now I just don't
have that kind of time. But when I do have a few moments to spare
I will continue to post Web 2.0 traffic techniques within these pages and I will
announce new sources of niche traffic websites that may appeal to your business.Remember,
it's all about you and your target market. Not what your fellow entrepreneur is
doing in a different market.Speaking of which, I did promise to
share a little Web 2.0 traffic generator for those working in making money
online niches...

Let
me just share one tiny morsel of a trade secret with you
before I head out...An internet
marketing website that is excited to accept your
links to their PR ranked pages. No tricks, and delivers
traffic to your online door.
Actually Google's PR has little to do with how popular the
site is since none of us have seen an update on PR for
nearly three months. However the site is showing up in
Alexa's traffic radar of the top 22,000 sites and is showing
a 58% increase in the last quarter.But
here's where it gets better...There's a way to power post on
that site if you have an RSS feed or blog. You don't have to
logon every day and submit new links. It's easy as pie right
through your profile. And the last time I checked many of my
links were staying on the front page for a few categories
six days later! (Not like digg or technorati where your
links disappear in a flash!)I
personally think it's one of our market's best kept
secrets...Here's
the link
to go see for yourself (opens in a new window) but
before you go let me tell you just a little more about easy
targeted traffic.

Finally I hope to see you 'inside' where you can learn about, read
about, and uncover your own Web 2.0 traffic sources!
Truly,

Laura Childs
