2. Why Doing Crunches and Situps Will NEVER Help You Lose Belly Fat--What You MUST Do Instead...
If you are like most men who are struggling with stubborn stomach fat you have tried to do crunches and sit-ups at some point.
You may even have used one of these useless ab machines

After all, that is what the fitness models with perfectly sculpted abs seem to be doing in the late night TV infomercials.
What about the ab belts that you wrap around your waist and “get fit while you sit”? Have you given these a try? Did it work?
The reason all of the above methods FAIL MISERABLY is because of a simple scientific fact about how your body works. This fact is:
It is IMPOSSIBLE to ‘spot reduce’ fat from any particular part of your body.
Let me explain. ‘Spot reduction’ is a term medical professionals use. It means getting rid of fat directly from a specific part of your body by exercising that body part.
Getting rid off just the fat around your stomach (but nowhere else on your body) is an example of spot reduction. So is reducing just the fat around your neck (but nowhere else on your body).
Numerous scientific studies have proved that it is impossible to do this. In one of the studies they simply measured the fat percentage in both arms of competitive tennis players.
See, tennis players use one arm most of the time. This one arm gets exercised a lot during competitive play and practice. For a competitive tennis player, over a few months, the active arm is swung HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF TIMES while the other stays put.
For the professional tennis player, swinging the active arm hundreds of thousands of times is just like doing HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF SITUPS OR CRUNCHES. The body fat percentage in the active arm remains exactly the same as that of the inactive arm—evidence that you cannot ‘spot reduce’ fat from a particular body part.
If spot reduction worked, the fat percentage should have been A LOT LOWER in the arm that got used. As it turns out, the fat percentage in both arms was exactly the same!
If you have done crunches or situps in the past it is not your fault! The shameless health magazines and late night TV infomercials are to blame. I will present the shocking evidence below and I’ll let you be the judge.
If spot reduction doesn’t work, what does?
Reducing your OVERALL BODY FAT PERCENTAGE by doing certain kinds of exercises and eating the right foods.
When you do these exercises and eat the right foods you reduce your overall body fat percentage.
When you reduce your overall body fat percentage SOME OF IT HAS TO COME FROM YOUR STOMACH but you have no direct control over this.
Little by little, as you continue to do this, you whittle fat from all parts of your body. Your waistline shrinks and your pants fit looser. If you had fat around your neck, this disappears too. Your arms and legs become thinner and more ‘toned’ since your overall body fat percentage is falling.
But ONLY IF you do the right exercises and eat the right foods.
All exercises are not created equal! Doing slow and boring cardio for hours, for example, is ineffective and the wrong way to go about it.
Similarly, living on steamed broccoli and granola may be healthy but is not sustainable. You need to enjoy food even as you lose your belly fat.

They make you think that without the ‘newly discovered’ thing they are peddling, you cannot lose your belly fat.
Surely, is it really possible for them to keep discovering something new for abs each and every month?
