[A Tough Fold](http://www.danmosspoker.com/?p=49)

The following hand took place extremely early in my poker career. For some reason, I still think about it. This might have something to do with my opponent being an arrogant player. At that time, he was the man to beat in our local game. I did get him on tilt one time by going all-in every time I saw at least one face card, but thatâs a story for another time.
In this particular hand, I was dealt 5/6-off in a short-handed cash game. Position didnât mean as much because this was a pride game more than anything else. In other words, everyone wanted to prove they could outplay one another regardless of what they were dealt. I was probably the second-best player at the time. In the situation Iâm about to tell you about, I was up against the top player. Since I canât bring myself to refer to him as the top player â Iâd love to play against him today â Iâll refer to him as Mr. Arrogant. [Continue reading →](http://www.danmosspoker.com/?p=49#more-49)

[Too Many Pre-Flop Callers](http://www.danmosspoker.com/?p=44)

The following poker hand took place at a charity event in south Charlotte. The charity event was a poker tournament, but they let us play cash games afterward. I found this odd, but I knew I didnât have much to worry about since there was a uniformed police officer standing at the door.
Unlike most of the players there, I didnât choose to play in the tournament. I didnât like how much went to the house, which is why I donât play poker tournaments in general. I do enjoy playing cash games while tournaments are taking place. Tournaments tend to draw some weak players, who then make their way to the cash games. In addition to that, when good players get knocked out of a tournament early, theyâre sometimes on mini-tilt from losing that buy-in. [Continue reading →](http://www.danmosspoker.com/?p=44#more-44)

[Owned Pre-Flop](http://www.danmosspoker.com/?p=28)

The following hand took place at a home game. I donât often write about home game situations, but this one was memorable. And this wasnât your average home game where people played for a few dollars. Most people bought into this 1/2 No Limit game for $200, but the max buy-in was $300. Since the game would usually last around 8 hours, it wasnât uncommon for someone to be up or down $700 to $800 in one night. The players were mixed in regards to their style of play. You had everything from super-tight to super-aggressive. However, in this case, the focus is on what I would call a highly-skilled and unpredictable player. [Handling A Super-Aggressive Player At The Mirage](http://www.danmosspoker.com/?p=3)

The following hand took place at The Mirage Poker Room, which happens to be one of my favorite poker rooms in the world. Itâs not that big and thereâs nothing overly special about it, but itâs clean, comfortable, and the dealers are amazing. The dealers here arenât just highly skilled, but friendly as well. They wonât hesitate to make small talk. And if you played at the Mirage Poker Room in the past, then they will ask how youâve been. Itâs obvious that the Mirage takes hiring dealers very seriously, and I think they should be acknowledged for that. So many other poker rooms on the Las Vegas Strip fall short in this area.
