A Special Offer from Snug Family Publishing -  A Practical Guide to Disaster Preparedness

Your Subtitle text

The span of topics covered is amazing.  The book is practical and easy to read with links and resource references to flesh out more technical subjects.  Plus, you will find plenty of humorous and helpful hints by way of "peanut butter in a diaper", perfecting your "crazy act" and working within your "cubic centimeter of chance" that serve up valid ideas to protect yourself in different situations.  It's a good read--valuable reinforcement of things you already know with expanded explanations of things you should know more about.  Thanks - be safe!

This book came about from doing my own preparation chores at home and our cabin that I thought were important for me and my family.  After going through these tasks for years I began noticing how at risk most of my friends and neighbors were to any sort of supply disruption.   I started writing down things I thought would be useful as a reference.

More research turned into a project.  There are lots of preparedness books available, but this one is tailored to be practical not only for disaster preparations, but for overall personal protection such as improving home security, travel, dealing with cops, computers, self defense, etc.  Check out the Table of Contents and Bonus tabs above.

We are more susceptible to supply disruption than most of us realize.  A supply line interruption can be caused by dozens of different events.  If you want to avoid the vulnerability of going to a government shelter in an emergency then get a plan and implement it.  Nobody else is going to get us ready.

I hope you find the information here valuable enough to order this book.  Life is rich - make your life more content by starting your preparedness plan.  You will feel more confident and secure when you do.  The better prepared all of us are, the more we can help others when times get bad.  Don't watch your family suffer.  The world provides us our daily bread, but it may be us helping provide it to others!
In less than one hour of reading you can develop a common sense plan to get going on preparing for natural and man made disasters.  Everybody has a natural talent for survival, we just need to fill in the blanks.  There is reason to make this a chore.  Have fun preparing!

Testimonial:  Dear Snug Family,
The electricity went out in our area for two days during a cold snap.  The temperature was below zero with wind.  Because of what my husband read in Snug Family he was able to rewire the boiler and heat the house with our generator.  Snug Family helped us be well prepared!  Thanks!

Testimonial:   Hi Jim,
As a woman professional  who has traveled solo extensively in the Middle East, Asia, and South America, I especially valued the concept of a "break glass" tool, to use in the event that a cab driver does not take me to my desired destination.  Although rare, kidnapping is a risk, especially in areas at war.  This small but easily practicable tip is very helpful.  The "safe bedroom" concept is also well-addressed.  Thank you for this helpful manual.

Testimonial:    I'm sending my 19-year old daughter off soon on a trip alone - she's smart and has traveled before, but still, a mom worries.  Several Snug Family topics provided a good jumping off places for discussions about safety awareness and travel tips.  Jim, you must be a parent, too - thanks!

Three Examples why to Download this Book

Example one:
Create your own emergency retreat! It can be expensive.  It can be involved.  Why not make it low-cost and easy.  The most versatile, easily available, portable secondary shelter is ....
A used RV!  With gas prices the way they are, there a bunch of used - low mileage gas guzzling motor homes available for fair prices.  As long as the mechanics are sound, the gas mileage and the fine trimmings are secondary.  You will have a big box on wheels that can hold a lot of stuff and get you out of the way - if you beat gridlock.  This book holds many more common sense - easy to do tips and advise.

Example two:
Do you you know about Bump Keys?  Bump keys are the big thing in home burglary lately.  A bump key is like a "master key" that criminals can obtain on the Internet to quickly enter any standard home lock, including deadbolts.  The perpetrator simply inserts the correct lock brand "bump key" into the lock and gently hits (bumps) the back of the key with a small hammer while turning the key until the tumblers align.

The way to stop this burglary method is to replace your locks with "high security biaxle locks".  These locks can be changed out yourself with normal household tools.  This book explains how.

Example three:
What is the biggest worry when we are not at home?  Break-in or Fire.  Learn many ways to quickly protect your home and family from intrusive break-in and protect your loved ones from fire danger.

The most crippling thing in a fire is usually smoke inhalation.  Keep a half faced respirator and swim goggles for everyone in their bedroom and you are much better prepared to get yourself and others out of a fire.  This book explains this strategy and others in detail.

This is a book about security and about being prepared for unfortunate events.  We don't discuss government conspiracy theories or gun toting survivalism (too much).  The book is a simple practical guide to help you be prepared where you need to be:

In Your Home & in your Mind
