Fitness is About More Than Just Muscle Size And Body-Fat Percentage

Conventional Fitness ideology, and certainly popular culture, would have us believe that image is everything.

However, the old ways of thinking about the human body are slowly dying off. Body Building is a sport, Spot-Reduction is a ruse, and Body-Shaping is for stone sculptures. If you’re cool with having less-than-optimal movement quality – or even moving like a tank – than those pursuits may top your training hierarchy.

They topped mine for quite some time, and eventually came back around to bite me… multiple times… from multiple angles, leaving me worse for wear, brow-beaten and disenchanted with all things fitness.

However, if you’re willing to entertain an “unconventional” perspective, and accept the fact that there’s one muscle in the human body – an interwoven webby matrix of myofascia, tacked down at various points across an underlying bag of bones – then you’ll find that we need to train movements, not muscles for the most effective and efficient results. We’ll need to train lines of tension, pull and tug in unison – not isolation – if we’re looking to keep acquiring new skills, to keep our mind and body sharp, and to constantly move better in an effort to BE BETTER in all that we do.

In that order.


While body transformation is a motivating and life-changing goal, to be certain, training for it alone is not the most optimal path to a life of grace, ease, confidence, resiliency, resourcefulness, adaptability and longevity.


Does that mean that you can’t have your cake and eat it to?

Absolutely not!

Body Transformation, after all, can be the source of much-needed inspiration, and newfound confidence. I’ll be the first to freely admit this.

Still, you can, with great success, transform your body by transforming your movement.  This, in fact, is simply a matter of programming – a natural side effect if you will.

Unfortunately, the reverse cannot always be said.

At the end of the day, how good you look on the outside is not directly proportional to how healthy you are on the inside or how well you’ll move when you need to.

Movement That Matters

It’s not enough to simply prioritize activity in your daily routine.  Training, simply for the sake of training, will not only have diminishing returns, but can very well set you up for future injury and dis-ease.

While working the movements in this program will get your heart rate up, blood pumping, sweat dripping and muscles burning that’s not really why they’ve been chosen.

Popular sentiment is that one has time for much of anything these days.  Some of us barely have a moment to steal for a bite to eat.  If this is indeed true, then why waste the precious little time you have on mundane, ineffective and inefficient training?

Too many programs waste your time and energy.  In a sense, it’s a waste of your life.  Literally.

For your fitness to build towards longevity it must pay heed to intuitive training and lead you down the path of synergistic flow, where the goal is not just to produce a greater quantity of work, but a greater quality quantity of work, where the sum of your work is greater than the parts.

The Body Weight Solutions Basics program requires you to train component movements in the interest of eventually working out towards body weight chains, or what are more commonly known as flows.

Flow training allows you to improve your language for movement and transition.  It allows you to build in more and more safety valves, and automatic patterns of default to resort to when things go wrong, or not as expected.


Many conventional fitness programs can be downright  mind-numbing.  For your fitness to build towards longevity is must stimulate the mind, body and spirit.  If you don’t enjoy it, you wont stick with it.  Honoring movement complexity, by constantly sophisticating it through incremental progression, and eventually chaining movements together into body flows, provides the stimulus our nervous system craves to combat premature aging and disability.

Yes, (the right kind of) challenge is enjoyable… because it makes us better for the effort.  Just because you “work” during your training, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t feel a bit like PLAY.

Does the program require any equipment?  None.  All that you’ll need is your own bodyweight and a little bit of floor space. Can I use this program with another one?  While we recommend tackling this program all by itself, you can certainly work it in with other programs.  Depending on the intensity you choose to work at, you can substitute Basics in for either your current strength, cardio, or restoration work. Do I have to follow the program to the letter?  To realize the essence of any program, it’s advisable to follow it “as-is” for at least one cycle.  However, once you have the material you’re free to assimilate it into your daily routine as you please.  Just pay heed to the training guidelines outlined in the program manual. Does the program require any software?  You won’t need to purchase any software.  Most computers nowadays come fully equipped to access your program materials.  The program manual is in PDF format and requires the free Adobe Reader to view it.  The video files are in .m4v format.  In the event your computer is not equipped to view the program materials, our program access portal provides links to places on the internet to download both the free Adobe Reader and our recommended free video viewing software. I’m not very active at all; can I still utilize this program?  Absolutely!  The program is designed to be approachable to an array of fitness levels.  There’s no rush – take your time absorbing and practicing the material.  The Cobwebs bonus program is also a great place to start if you consider yourself more of a sedentary individual.
